what a loser. why do you want to sue your mum? loads of parents used belts, wooden spoons whatever. you were probably in need of some discipline. maybe in this day and age its not so acceptable.

my mum beat me up, punched my face, tried to suffocate me.
I'm not sueing her for 'pain and suffering'

while you are at it why don't you sue all the kids at high school for hassling you, or the teachers for giving you a hard time, and the dog across the road for keeping you up at nights.. for all your 'pain and suffering'

Oh p-lease.

just focus on growing up and don't do it to your kids.

Do you really want to go there? I would talk to a trusted professional (a doctor, for instance) to find out whether the pain and suffering of RELIVING the incidents is even worth the trouble of pursuing a lawsuit. Sometimes it's better just to take the high road and say to yourself "Despite such a rotten start in life, I have turned out to be a GREAT person who will NEVER beat my kids". Good luck to you.

Get over it....It was 15 years ago. People are "sue happy" now days. Besides, I'm not saying anyone should be beaten with a belt, but how many times did you deserve punishment, when it was happening????

You should thank your mother, not sue her. She hit you with a belt and you grew up to be a big strapping boy.

I was whipped with a belt as a kid and I deserved every lick. Are you saying you didn't need punished? You're just wanting some cash, right?

No, the laws were differant back than....best thing is to let it go and get on with your life, or it will haunt you forever, just let it go and learn by her mistakes, you will be a much better person.

i doubt she BEAT you with it, she was spanking you so you'd turn out right. And its been over 7 years so there is nothing you could do. and you'd need proof on top of that.

You should get the belt for that question. You deserve the belt.
