Synchronous learning occurs when a learner and instructor are in the same place at the same time.
Synchronous learning systems are used to deliver synchronous learning. These software tools have a number of common characteristics and features:
1. browser-based
2. two-way audio (usually half duplex or full duplex)
3. collaborative application viewing and sharing
4. whiteboard
5. synchronised web browsers
6. online testing
