veggies are good but make sure they are low on the glcymic index, potato's, corn and your starchy vegies will not help you lose, also you body needs protein everyday that is the building blocks for life, so include healthy protein choice, soy protein is good if you are vegetarian or lean chicken and fish, turkey, etc. protein will help you to build more muscle, which will speed up your metabolism and help you keep the weight off once you do lose it

It will work as a TEMPORARY FIX~!
Fasting is not good for the body either, you body will be triggered into thinking it is in the starvation mode an start to store any calories as fat to keep the body going. Has anyone read in the papers or watched the news about all the models dying from starving themselves. Sorry to burst anyones bubble out there, the only true and most rewarding way to loose weight and keep it off is to make a lifestyle change. That mean change your diet to eating healthy. Less saturated fats, less complex carbs, cardio, water etc.. I am sure you get my point. I am not saying don't include veggies, you should have six small helpings along with fruit, grains and lean meats, and calcium based foods. Go grab a food paramid if you are unsure what your body needs to survive. But, if you want to do it the right way and KEEP IT OFF!! That my friend is the ONLY way.

you can do that but its no good if you do it for a week and then go back to eating regularly. You will just gain the weight right back. If you are trying to lose weight try this. Have some sort of carbs in the morning like oatmeal, cereal, or eggs and toast. Have a healthy snack like vegetables, protein bar, granola bar...for lunch try any grilled meats like chicken, fish, and rice...and for dinner stick to chicken, fish, steak and vegetables. Stay away from carbs at night before you go to bed. Also do not eat after 8 pm that way you digest before your body goes into sleep mode and doesnt burn as much fat. Hope this helps!

Yes, veggies have bulk that fill you up and lower calories. But an easier thing to do is be a vegitarian and only eat whole grains. Then you will feel full and eat significantly less calories, helping you lose wieght. This is what I do and put spices on my food, rather than the fat from meat. I can't tolerat just veggies but adding whole wheat chips, beans and bread makes this doable.
I also fast 1 day per week if I don't have work to do and this is easy if you start by fasting your easies meal to skip--mine is breakfast, then build up to skip all means until dinner. Very healthy for your body and easy way to lose weight.

Yes you will probably lose weight but it's doubtful you will keep it off.....to lose weight in a healthy manner one needs to change one's unhealthy habits forever, not just for a week. Your best bet is to eat balanced meals that are heavy on the vegetables/salad side and light on the fat/carbs side. Lay off the bread and potatoes and have a steak with a side of stirfried mushrooms & peppers and a huge caesar salad.....that's my fav meal and I'm far from fat. Good luck!!

Yes, definitely. The problem though, is that when she starts back to her old food habits, she'll get the weight right back. Dieting helps, but she should do more than that. I don't know this person, so I don't know if she exercises regularly, but if not, she should go to a health club at LEAST two times a week, the more the better.
