I think we get stuck in a rut. Throwing on jeans and tennis shoes and a sweatshirt is fast and easy!!! I sometimes look at myself in the mirror and think about where the heck that "girl" is who loved make up and spending time fixing her hair and wearing fun clothes? Now, fun clothes for me are sweatpants! LOL!!!! But, in all seriousness, once the kids get a little older I think you will start finding yourself again. I definitely can relate though!!!!

I always thought I should have been the mother of all boys yeah I used to dress nice and do my hair but I'm more comfortable wearing jeans and sneakers I hate chic films I love action, horror, superheroes and since I had 2 girls first I have a hard time getting my son things because I was so used to what I call the pink isle so hopefully with son #2 on the way it'll get easier for me.

I completely understand how you feel. I am a mother of seven, the two eldest are girls and no longer live at home so I have four boys and one girls in the house, we too are seriously out numbered. I have never been super girly but I do like to dress up and wear make-up and yes I agree it definitely makes you feel better about yourself.
I had serious problems with this for ages especially having one little girl who is quite the tom boy now, I treid to over load her with pink clothes and dolls and junk she just wasn't interested in, I can see no though without forcing her she is slowly but surely taking more care in her appearence, probably an age thing as she is nearly thirteen.
I am currently pregnant with triplets two boys and a girl so my male female ratio is merely getting worse.
I am very lucky to have so many healthy happy kids and I love them all boys and girls, but I really do know how you feel.
Suggestions; My husband and I go out for a meal and a few drinks at least once a week, usually to somewhere quite fancy and we both get a chance to dress up a little....he is a stay at home dad so it is as important for him to get out of his sweats as it is for me to get out of my work suits.
I try, time and money provided to treat myself to a facial or amssage or pedicure or whatever once a month and I often go a just get my hair blow dryed you would be surprised how good you feel afterwards.
Appart from that I would say give yourself a half hour a day for you, have a nice bath do your hair, wax your legs, shave whatever it may be it is necessary and you will feel so much more energised and believe me if you have another half this in itself will improve your sex life.
Finally don't stress too much about wearing sneakers and sweats during the week with three boys nothing else is worth the risk, just make sure that there is time for the fancy stuff too.
Good Luck.

I lost my "sense of self" and I'm a woman raising two girls. Parents are so wrapped up in their children's lives that they often forget who THEY are. I found myself watching cartoons and listening to kids music even when the kids weren't around. Take a day to go shopping with some old friends, listen to music from before you were a mom, go to a salon, have a girls night out... Soon you'll remember how good it feels to be yourself again.

YES! There is WAY too much testosterone in my house, too! You just have to make sure you girl yourself up once in a while. I do, wear jewellery and do my hair.... but I know what you mean, jeans and for me, a hairband. I think I will resolve to get my hair done next week! It'll feel so good....
