I read a news report today about a man who fired a Flare Gun at the young mother and her daughter in the Pensecola, FL area yesterday. The 3rd such incident since last Friday in the area. I've gotten pretty steamed while driving, people who follow too closely, people who drive to slowly. But what really tends to get me is the Aggressive Drivers. You know who they are, the ones who weave in and out of traffic at break neck speeds, while tailgating the car in front of them to intimidate the driver to speed up so they can pass. The ones who recklessly change lanes with no signals while on their cellphone and sending a text message! For godsakes, where ever your going at near the speed of light and with no regard for other human life is still going to be there even if you get there in 10 seconds or 10 minutes from now. Slow down and take it easy.

On a personal note, some months ago after while driving I was cust off I decided to "flick off" the offender. Who then proceeded to tailgate me to my home, pull into the parking area and confront me about my obsence gesture. I did not get the plate number as I was terrified by the arm waving and the possibility that I might be shot by this lunatic. Eventually he left and I returned to my day...so since then I just keep my hands to myself and while I might curse out loud at the offender.

Nope, I enjoy every minute of it!
But seriously, I know I'm a good and safe driver, but there are so many idiots out there on the roads it's difficult not to get wiped out, let alone wound up. My personal solution is twofold: when driving with a passenger I rant at them (in a nice way, of course!) with possible appropriate gesticulation at offending driver; when by myself I save up the details and formulate a "you wouldn't believe i"t story for my husband which is usually so full of hyperbole by the time I tell him that we both end up having a good laugh. Oh, and of course I swear a lot!

I had a similar instance. I was coming up to a stop light and another drive in the left turn lane speed up and cut in front of me. Well I started yelling and gesturing, and the guy put his car in park got out and started heading back to my car. I was 18 at the time and this guy was huge and rather mean looking. All I could do was say sorry about 100 times and he finally got back in his car. Since then, I have been cured of my outbursts. I keep my hand gesture down low. Better safe then sorry!

I hear you. There are way to many hot headed jerks on the roads these days. It really drives me nuts when I see people weaving in and out of traffic, just to stop for the same red light as me. Everyone needs to learn to slow down and relax. I have some anxiety and anger issues and have learned to stay off the road when I get really wound up.

I agree with you. What also can get me raging are people that: use high beams when there is oncoming traffic, drive in the middle of the road, and don't go the SPEED limit in neighborhoods or school areas.
Unfortunately, it's a "I wanna leave late and still be the first there," society today.

Not in this way, I do get very annoyed at people but I keep it inside 'cause I don't want to endanger myself or others. I do hate inconsiderate people who block the way, who cut me off, etc, etc though... but I'd probably give myself an ulcer holding it in rather than getting violent with others. :P
