Scott B, Of course UK military action would be confined to Three Strategic Atmospheric Air Burst Nukes, disabling most of the US civil electronics.

Dear Just You, please tell us when the second time the UK & US went to WAR with each other and the UK lost...I must have missed that history lesson.
Perhaps your referring to WWII, and you think America won, therefore everybody else lost.

its a good point, and one that angers a lot of British people, but i think most of us here know that if Americans had known what truly was going on ( bombings murders etc ) they would have thought before giving, having been to the states i was in a bar that sold a cocktail called an Irish car bomb, i wonder what Americans would think if they went to a bar in another country and saw a cocktail called a twin tower crash,

I'm just now finding out about this and I have to admit, as an American, I'm equal parts curious and disgusted. But that would have been interesting, another Anglo-American war. The world would not have survived because I'm 100% sure whoever won would have taken over the land and populace from the other country.

But! So fascinated. Is there a place I can go to find more information? I'm either putting too much into the search engine or not enough.

As an average American, I don't know a thing about this. I guess that is what is so sad about our country and media. More than half the population doesn't have a clue whats going on in the world. Ireland is just one of those places I don't even think about (while I sit here wearing a shirt that says Guinness 1759 Made in Ireland lol... typical). I would hope that the Brits (which I work with every single day) would not want to kill me for my own ingnorance of what my country did or didn't do.

More lies, hatred and asininity from the arrogant little hippy-socialist. What a complete and utter imbecile you sound like. This would explain why Britain and the U.S are such good allies, right ? You desperately need to back away from the LSD and put down the doobys. But to answer your mindless drivel, if that would have occurred, the UK would today be the 51st state of this great country's, (which would be very convenient for my vacationing purposes). Please refrain from further postings that are the equivalent of leftist ignorance and myopia. Now run back and hide behind your Mummy's skirt while sniffing her farts. You miserable and desperate ingrate.

It was funded by a group called NORAID I believe, but I think you are generalizing too much, I was in New York on holiday in 1986, and I was walking past the British consulate in Manhattan, there were about eight or nine people stood in front of the consulate chanting slogans about how the IRA were going to bomb and maim the British, these people weren't young, they were for the most in the their fifties, I must admit I was pretty angry and I stood watching them glaring at them until they eventually noticed, which made them slow down a bit and they started looking at me very nervously, anyway what I did notice was that the people that were passing were shaking their heads in total disgust at what they were saying and also quite a few telling them to shut the f**k up.

So in reality the actual financial support for the IRA was confined to a group of people and not all Americans as you seem to be saying, as someone has just said, that the trouble in America is the poor amount of media coverage of what is actually going on in the world, and in the case of Northern Ireland, they were pretty much getting a one sided story.

I have got to say this, most of the posts on here are acting like children, my daddy's bigger than your daddy, Pathetic!!!

JD, I believe and I agree that what you are saying about your country's past is correct, the British were bastards in those days and treated those people terribly espcially the likes of Cromwell, but trying to claim that in the 20th century putting bombs in high streets and blowing to bits innocent men women and children is not terrorism is total crap, its the same the world over, I suppose you think that flying airliners into office towers is not terrorism do you, they have their ***** too about the past god knows how many years of oppression, so do you agree with their actions???

The trouble in Ireland and Scotland for that matter is that you won't let go of the bloody past, you are still screwed up with petty hatred despite the fragile peace that you have now, yes the stupid bloody orange men still keep on having ridiculous parades celebrating what happened hundreds of years ago, and you still keep on provoking each other like ****** morons. and don't try and blame the other side because you are both as bad.

contained in the subsequent 50 to one hundred years, virtually something can ensue. In one hundred years you've the most Holy Empire of Oklahoma (led via tremendous Khan Alexander von Singh from his capital in Austinius) affirming a Zensunni campaign antagonistic to the Despotate of Cascadia-East over the Despotate's failure to deliver a sufficiently cybernetically-more advantageous ambassador to the finished Khan's line marriage. So, extremely, it really is an unanswerable and meaningless question. Now, what you would opt for to do is study developments and make certain if, faster or later contained in the destiny, there is an overpowering benefit to one u . s . to commence protection force action antagonistic to a unique. ought to that ensue? certain - although the international isn't a sport of possibility the position all of us is merely attempting to enhance their territory for status, and the merely element protecting them decrease back is the protection force power of their competitors. international international kin (and judgements of warfare and peace) are determined via nationwide spheres of pastime and known demands for one or the different (with the people in maximum international locations wanting peace).

First off, anyone with two brain cells to rub together know we would kick the UKs ***. Secondly, the IRA got far more money, training, and equipment from the USSR. Oh, and drug smuggling. Yeah, and extortion, can't forget extortion.
