At 14 your still growing, you dont need to diet just exercise. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and if you do cut out anything then cut out sweets, crisps and chocolate etc. Be sensible and remember we all know that burger and chips every night is bad for you but now and again its fine. If you are too strict you will just be skinny and miserable. A frown is not a good look either. Swimming is a great exercise, or invite all your mates round and whack on a cd and dance your socks off..great fun and burns the calories 2!! Dont crash diet or do any of the wacky fad diets around..they dont work..you lose weight briefly then pile it back on, they are also bad for you. Besides who says chubby isnt a good luck?? You'd be surprised how many people prefer curves and how many wish they had em themselves. Dont panic im sure you look fantastic, worry bout having fun not dieting.

We are what we eat, but probably even more importantly, we are what we don't do.

Average calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than now. We just did more. Everyone walked, everyone carried things and there were few labour, and calorie, saving devices.

Just stick to a sensible diet with loads of fresh fruit and veg. Eat the whole thing, not the smoothie versions!

take 40 minutes of vigorous exercises 4-5 days a week and you will loose weight and also be fitter, look better, healthier and happier.

Well, my answer is pretty much like everyone elses. A healthy diet and exercise will help you lose some weight. I wouldn't suggest diet pills or anything like that. You're a bit young to be using that kind of stuff.
However, one of the things my daughter likes to do, because generally exercise is boring, is to use DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). She has a floor controller pad, and gets exercise by dancing to the music in the game. She even started a club at her high school after school so she can dance with her friends and encourage other kids to exercise too.
I understand that the push to be thin and trim is strong. Just remember, the end goal shouldn't so much to be thin as it is to be fit. If you're fit, you'll feel good and look good.
Good luck!

Its really important at your age not to starve yourself or cut out essential foods, because your'e still growing & hormones are all over the place and you don't want to mess about with your metabolism at your age.
The best way to lose a bit of weight is cut out any sugary drinks & snacks, any chocolate, sweets or crisps. Cut out chips, fried foods & fast food.
Eat plenty of dairy foods, full of protein helping you grow. Fill up on heaps of veg & try to eat wholemeal bread instead of white.
Walk or jog 3 times a week & have as much fun as possible outside!
Take multivitamins too, just in case your not getting enough, and this will give you more energy to get fit & enjoy yourself.

I suggest you talk to your parents and get an apt for a check up with your doctor. You can get a referral to se a nutritionist and get educated about healthy eating. Exercise is good too. If you have a dog, offer to walk it before school and after and if you do not mabey you could start a dog walking service. You could also get a bike.
Here is something easy that works for me...do not eat anything that is white. Use brown sugar, wheat bread and brown rice if you must, no pasta and no potatoes. I have learned to eat less portions but more often so I do not get hungry and gorge. Also, eat live food!
I know you want to look good and there is a lot of preassure out there. I am sorry about that. Perhaps you and your parents could make these changes together. My kids make our weekly meal plan and shop with me so they can start making good food choices now. They also cook with me and that helps too.
Good luck!!

I recomend just exercising more. It could just be puppy fat I was more chubby between 12 - 15 then it dropped off naturally. If you think you really need to lose weight it would be better talking to your doctor as you shouldnt really be dieting unless its needed at your age. He will be able to tell you the safest way to do this.
Oh also you dont want to slim down too fast as this causes stretch marks which you can never get rid of once you have them. They fade but never go unless you are a celeb who has lots of money lol.

what you need to do is burn off pretty much as many callories as you take in each day.
The best way that I have found is to check all yoru food labels and most of them tell you what % of the recommended daily allowance they contain. make sure that you dont have any more than 2000 calories a day. and if you can do some sort of physical exercise for 30 minutes at least once a day it will work wonders.

first of all do not look on it as a diet, you can still eat the things you like but just cut down on them. for example if you eat 3 chocolate bars a week cut it down to 1 or have fun size instead.
on the exercise front if you have or know someone with a dog take it for long walks or try skipping it's surprising how many calories you burn.

Lots of exercise fruit and veg. That's just ocmmon sense.
Poeple don't get slim by dieting or not eating. It's not even about being slim, it's a bout being healthy. Eat well and exercise and everyting in moderation.

At 14 you shouldn't be dieting!

The best advice (even though you probably won't like it) is exercise and eat more healthily.
