i owned a '94 jeep cherokee sport in high school, then graduated to a 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited, got into a wreck with it so i got a 2004 jeep liberty and hated it, so i traded it back in for another grand cherokee. i've always had a jeep so i know thats what i want - ive just never had a wrangler :)

i was looking at getting a wrangler x myself, i currently own a laredo. the front and side crash test rating are very good, but there is a potential for roll-over as with any suv. the wrangler x gets around the same mpg as a 4x4 grand cherokee, but is thousands less! i think they range from 21,000-28,000 which isnt bad at all for a brand new jeep. the one i saw on the jeep website came with sirius satelite radio also and bluetooth capability. during the summer time it would be awesome to take the top off! i dont know how easy that is to do though, but i really want one too!!
nice screename by the way (goat!)

Yes I do and I love it. I have the Black Sahara unlimited with khaki dual tops. I have owned Jeeps in the past and this is my favorite. It comes with Std 18' wheels. See if you can add the my gig radio with GPS. the 4 doors are great with having 2 small kids (the reason I had to get rid of my two door) The ride is better (longer frame) on the highway (less bouncing). I enjoy the freedom top where I can take off the driver side and or passenger side really quick. I live in the North so I like the hard top in the winter. Trunk space is huge compared to the old. Highly recommend this Jeep to anyone

I have owned two Jeep Wranglers, a 1995 and 1997. Greatest, funnest vehicles I have ever owned, but then I had to grow up!!
If your a rough and tumble, outdoors's type person you will love it. If your a mall rat, office type you probably will be trading it in for a Mazda 6 in a couple of years and then griping about the how crummy the Jeep was.
They are certainly made for certain personality type!!

If you're gonna go with a Wranger, stick with the original 2-door. The 4-door just isn't happening. With the looks and the plastic overtones, the Liberty is the Barbi Jeep - this 4-door excuse for a Wranger has now become the Ken Jeep.
The 4-door still gets good performace marks, it just looks goofy...

I test drove one and the power just isnt there with that engine.
Sure it has 5 more hp, but its at 5000RPm LOL.
The old inline 6 generates 80% of its torque before 2500 rpm,, that v6 can come no where near it.. Which makes me think around town you may end using more gas if you try to zip around. Other then that It handles great. I here the top isnt too easy to take down by yourself but i wasnt able to try at the dealers.
Good luck

I looked at them and drove a few, I really liked them.
I have a family and went with the grand cherokee, it was alot more expensive though...40k vs. about 27k for the wrangler i wanted. the wranger unlimited was quite roomy and functional with leading off-road capabilites. sweet ride...was just a little too utilitarian for my spoiled family. :)
