Here's my blog from this morning:

They really do sound like a train...

...just letting everyone know that we're still here. Last night we were getting ready to go to bed and the weather took a really bad turn for the worse. We got all of the kitties and one little doggie and shut them up in the bedroom in preparation to shove everyone in the closet just in case.

Once everyone was secure, we turned the TV back on to take a look at the radar. We decided to go outside and check it out. Both of us are such avid storm freaks that we couldn't resist...there's not much about lightning, high winds, heavy rain or even hail that scares us but last night we bolted for the inside a few times because it was getting THAT scary. But the urge to ride it out was so strong that we would immediately go back outside, peeking out the door first to check the winds and sounds first though. Remember, we're the ones that rode out a Cat 1 hurricane IN A TENT!! HAHA!!

The trees were laying over but the scariest thing was when we were standing out there the wind was blowing really hard in one direction and then suddenly it would change directions...then back again. About 12:15 we were backed into the doorway (ready to two step it to the closet) and we heard this low rumbling that sounded like thunder off to the east. The rumbling didn't let up like thunder would..it just kept rumbling and rumbling and rumbling....that's when it touched down just a few miles from here and tore stuff up.

Shortly after that, the pressure dropped outside and it fell by about 12 degrees.

Wow...just wow.

I was wishing the whole time that I would have had the camera to record the sirens, the alerts blaring out on the TV, the wind, the rain and that wild rumble.

It's a night we'll both remember.

...and look forward to experiencing again. The fear from that twister barreling down was better than a roller coaster!! The best thing about it was the adrenaline offered a high level of pain relief when the survival instinct kicked in. The drop in barometric pressure gave up some pain removal too.

For anyone who is NOT a natural effect junkie, you really have got to try it. Just make sure you know what to look for to get yourself out of trouble in the nick of time. Cat and mouse with the most powerful forms of nature yields much excitement and pleasure.

See you all for electrical storm season!! WooOooO!!
