Only if you go to bed real early. If you're a night owl, you'll be starving by 7 pm and by 11 pm you'll be starving and tired [and have less willpower.]

I grew up always having a late dinner [7 pm] and never had a problem with weight. When I moved away to college and lived in the dorms, the dorm cafeteria closed at 7 pm so I was eating at 5 or 6 pm. By 8 pm, I'd have to get in the car and hit up McDonalds or a pizza joint. I gained 30 lbs in 3 months!

Actually, nutritionists will suggest that you eat every four hours to keep your metabolism up. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you'll burn, thus less fat in your body.

Even if it's just a piece of fruits combined with a small piece of low-fat park skim mozarella, have a snack before bedtime to keep that metabolism up. Otherwise it will slow down and probably stall the calorie burning process.

Also, 1200 calories a day sounds really low, even if you're trying to lose weight (usually 1500 is the lowest). It'[s recommended that you only lose 1-2 pounds per week. If you're losing more than that, you might be putting your health in danger. Consult with a doctor to make sure that this is okay for you.

Have you heard of the after six diet? it is very simple: no intake of food between six pm and 6 am. Well, there is truth to this, but I discovered that the 12 hour span of time is the secret there. so, if you do not take anything after 4pm, it is okay as long as your next full meal will be at 4am the following day. ask your doctor about what happens inside the body within the 12 hours of on food intake. he may give you a better explanation... (I accidentally tried the 12 hour no intake and it worked for me. I lost weight. I hope it will also work for others...)

Hi, I'm the biggest diet freak you'll ever hear from and I will only tell you the truth even if it's bad. That will work. You can lose weight from not eating after you last meal and probaly much faster. I've tried it and it sure works. The only catch is that I couldn't stick with it forever and I finally went crazy and started getting up in the middle of the night to eat. I was so dam hungry I about went nuts. Ya, it does work though. I quit eating after about 3 pm and lost tons, but like I said- I about went nuts because I felt so deprived.

Not necessarily...it depends on what works for you. When it comes to weight loss, a calorie is a calorie, and it all comes down to calories in verses calories out. That being said, it is a good idea to make sure that you aren't eating too close to bedtime...you're less likely to burn these calories, and digestion can interfere with sleep hormones. I would eat a little later, though, so that you don't get hungry at night and binge (I do that alot).

it is not affective at all. let say your eat breakfast as early as 6 in the morning. That is still 14 hours your body has gone with out food. Your body will set it self in something called starvation mode. which means it will store the calories your are taking in as fat. it is storing fat up because you are telling it you are not going to eat.

up until you go to bed you should eat every four hours. some thing such as an apple or a roll. so your body will not fear when the next fuel source is coming
