This point of view infuriates me so much.
Firstly have you ever been abused???
Yes? well you know that point is rubbish.
No? well let me tell you, everyone has choices.
These muppets that say X percent of paedophiles were abused as kids thats why they do it, makes me sick to the stomach an so angry.
I made a promise to myself when it was happening to me that if I was ever strong enough to help or protect someone I'd do it no matter what cost.
An I can also tell you that everyone I know, an there's dozens, that was abused as a child are the nicest most loving people I've ever met.
Not having a go at you mate, just the point of view, an it was a question so don't take this personally.
But its bollocks.

Does abuse mess with your head even into adulthood? Yes it does. But this doesn't give you an excuse to revisit that pain and inflict it on others. Every person in this world has a choice, you can act on your agression and your instincts or you can fight them. Even if you've come from a bad childhood, perhaps the worst background, you can re-educate yourself about what is humanity. I think there are so many books out there now about people that survived from horrific childhoods that the old aphorism about "the abused becomes the abuser" should be changed!

Most kids are abused in some way because their parents have never parented before so its trial and error..thats a psychological headgame..
Oscar Wilde wrote..When your young you love your parents..when you grow up you judge your parents..very rarely
if ever do you forgive them. There just wasnt the same amount of sexual abuse about in the 50s 60s and early 70s but there was more physical abuse..at school at home even the local bobby would cuff your earhole..all of which has changed.
Theres a lot more protection for kids now, and battered wives..
But i think if some one is going to be bad they someday will..
with or without abuse...
A lot of the really nasty bad mofos are in the british Army..mostly the paras and special forces especially with the hot wars we ve had recently. lives are lives whether taken legally or illegally you
still have to equate the deed with a usually normal moral upbringing in this country. the policy in gulf1 was shoot everyone
including the famous passage from andy mcnabbs book about shooting the poor young shepherd boy so poetically written it seemed not only had he got over it but.....!! you have to deal with it, people deal with it differently
Theres an element of vindictivness towards society by people that were abused one way or another but i think its a minor one
Most people were abused by Thatcher the milk snatcher..
40year old strong tough workhardened miners and engineers
shipwrights steelworkers broken crying like babies.when the jobs went their houses were repossesed their wife and kids split
All over the country...but shes still with us...
The time i felt most abused as a child is when we went decimal
and i lost140pence in the pound 140p theres only 100 now
and at the time it was about 50 old p for a weeks school dinners
you still had 190 p left...i was GUTTED....
No most people try to be good it is the few that fail..

some times people who were abused turn out to be horrible adults. but I feel that is a choice they make. You can choose to be good or be bad. some people whether they were abused or not. grow up and choose to do bad things. they are week minded ot they just do not care.

I believe nasty adults are MEAN spirited. They have a deadness inside. They are morons. They are so busy thinking about what they are jealous about - they don't ever really inside want anyone else to have friends...
I know people like that, who didn't have rotten child-hoods...

A bad childhood is not a reasonable excuse for a wicked adulthood.
You would expect them to sympathise more with other people and not go out inflicting pain on others.
Unfortunately there are too many bleeding hearts involved.

My apologies, Debi, I meant to give you a 'thumbs up', and pressed thumbs down by accident.
I agree fully with what you said - it's no excuse for bad behaviour as an adult, and is used all too frequently today to excuse all kinds of crimes and problem behaviours.
