What is this BS about the world ending by 2012 everyone who is saying this seems happy about it. If the world was going to end by 2012 shouldn't you be doing something to prevent it? Instead of happily letting it happen!

The date 2012 comes from the Mayan calendar. The calendar ends in 2012, so some say this means they predicted the world would end in that year. There's no way to know as there is nothing written about it.

People are happy because they think that means that JC is coming back. However, if the end of the world is truly following the Mayan timeline, that kinda shows that the Mayan religion was the right one, don't you think?

I am a Christian holding a great deal of faith the biblical prophecies. Trust me...the world is not going to end.
The world as we know it will end; but the world itself will not.
When this is going to happen we don't know. No one knows, not even the Christ knew. God knows, and He isn't telling anyone until the actual time has come. When it does there is going to be a lot of pain, and suffering for about seven years. However ....come the end of those trying times God will actually rule the planet and Yale locks will go out of business: after all with God here ruling with such a powerful love who is going to need locks on their doors. Companies can leave mistakenly leaving their doors opened and come back in the morning and find that none of their stock has been stolen. Food prices will drop, because they aren't going to have to raise prices to cover the cost of shoplifting. Security measure on clothing articles and needful objects like kettles, laptops, phones will disappear. Producers of tags and bugs on products will go out of business. Children will be able to play anywhere in town at any time and know they are safe. Predators will die off to a nothing. Women can walk the streets a three in the morning without fear. Employers will not cheat their employees. Bar fights will be non existent, prostitution will be a funny word from the past. And the same sex quagmire will be settled once and for all. Divorces will literally come to a standstill. The police force will become a force to regulate traffic at best, and armed forces will be turned into rescue operations. The trillions of dollars currently spent on defence will now be turned into the welfare of the citizens, like schools, libraries, public transit(cheap too!) universities, employment opportunities. The fruits of the lands will produce more than enough food. Cancer will be a boogeyman story for Grimms fairy tales to titilate the kiddies. Help will be there when ever you need it. Old people will not suffer the great indignaties they do today. All tears will come from joy, not pain.
People will not lie to you nor steal your money.
These are a few things I can think of off the top of my head about the world after the end as we know it comes.
It is no wonder those who know of it are happy. Think about it~ you can literally live your life free of worry in a social order that is governed by God. If we had that now I would be extremely happy.

the only ones who say the world is ending are christians. there are many reasons to feel that way especially more then ever before however most christians fail to realize the Bible says no man will beable to predict when the time will come. if it were going to end however then christians are happy for a couple reasons. obvious one first is that well everything we believe in is true. and second there is so much hate and crime and everything else in this world so that would be the end of all that. not saying christians dont do anything because a lot do as well. just like there are many who say look at me i am a christian and go off drinking and partying all week. so from a christian view it is a good thing. from someone else it means nothing just another time frame picked for the return of Jesus. i believe it is near however i also believe it could be another 2000 years if God wants. as a christian i live daily as if God will come anyday. and we all need to as christians. and a lot of christians are trying to save everyone. but so many get mad at christians for sharing there beliefs. but other then christian side people dont say the world is going to end.

for your question about doing something to prevent it. if it is biblical and God comes back then there is nothing you can do to prevent it. but believe and get saved. Christians are trying to get people saved and are sharing the Word of God. just those who dont believe get mad for christians trying to pass on what they believe in.

End of days stuff is rather constant. It was supposed to happen in 2000, but it didn't. Now it is 2012. If it doesn't happen then, it'll be 2025 or some other nonsense. This is not a prevetable thing. When the Earth ends, it ends. There is no slowing it down and no one knows when the end will come.

People have been thinking the world will come to an end since the beginning of the world. This must be one of the oldest questions since the creation of man! Obviously we should be about the business of making the world a better place ...

Well to be honest with you i would be relieved if the world came to an end! This place is disgusting everyone is dying of Aids and all types of diseases and our world is surrounded with war and hate...I know it sounds horrible to say that but I am just being honest.. When my grandfather past away last week he had a smile on his face after he died cause he was in so much pain and he was always crying.. death sometimes is a good release..If the world would end and we could all go to a place of love & peace free of war and disease I would trully be happy....I just don’t think this world we are living in now could be that way...

Sorry for being a pessimist! :)

Well, if a definite date is given, then I wouldn't even worry about it. Many have predictet the end of the world without it ever coming true. But from a biblical standpoint, the world will end. Watching Israel and how the predictions are coming true and have come true, lead christians to believe that the hour is at hand and to be ready. If you are a non believer, you wouldn't have to worry about that. But then again, maybe you do.

I am a Christian, and I find it absurd when people try to date the end of the world. Nobody knows when Jesus Christ is going to return. But we Christians rejoice so much over it because it means that our Lord will be taking us home. I just hope that you will be able to say the same for yourself.

Many people who AREN'T on prozac, probably NEED to be.

Lol !!! That's what's wrong with this world.

You got depressed people in charge of things. I say, kick em out of office, put em on antidepressants or the mental ward where they belong, and let someone who will teach us good things be in office for a change.
