You're going to think this is silly but I think mine is a gift for serving and caring for people. What's yours? Think about it because everyone has at least one.

Lion of Judah - That really is a gift. I know how to do so many things but I find it hard to teach others how to do them.

Yes, all people have gifts but I was referring to the scripture that says after you become a Christian the Holy Spirit comes into you and gives you gifts.

I think mine is working with kids. I also think I am good at giving advice, at least that is what people tell me. I think God gives me the right words when he thinks I need them.

God the Father gives spiritual as well as natural gifts to His children. Nine spritual gifts are mentioned in 1 Cor 12:8-10. Seven gifts are mentioned in Rom 12:6-8. Five gifts are mentioned in Ep 4:11. When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we all should receive the gift of speaking in tongues. I believe that I can move in any gift if God decides to use me to do it. But I do operate with gifts that suit my present ministry. Your gift is mentioned in Rom 12:6-8.

No! Dear it is not silly. To Care for others is a tough job and if you have the Gift to Care and serve others then Keep Up the Good work!
I'm still waiting for my gift and if I've already got it; the time hasn't come to use it.but I know my purpose that I have to spread the word of Jesus Christ ; and I try my level best to do so.
May God Bless You.

From where do you get the idea that god has given every christian a gift?

I think that all Christians should aim to exercise certain gifts to some degree -- especially the "greater thing" -- love. Your gift is so important and it is something which people always look for in Christians and, sadly, don't always find. Mine is preaching.

So far it seems God has given me the gifting of care, compassion, and mercy then as a leader and preacher.
I thank Him for it and because of His grace and His gifts, I have been asked to lead a new and exciting ministry at our church.
It's not something I would have thought to do... but it is not mine to demand what I do... but my privilege to serve God where He wants me.

Yes,God has blessed me with that also and the gift of the word of wisdom and knowledge. After years of having a personal relationship with the Lord I have come to realize I cannot deny what I have been blessed with.I agree with you that we all have gifts to be able to encourage and edify the body of Christ and bring light into the dark..
