Expectorants make you cough more, did you know this? Generally most scientific physicians will advise you there is no such thing as a useful cough mixture.

You give no other details of your problem. Could it be that you are a smoker. If so the correct answer is STOP.

Are you unwell with prolonged cough? If this is the case see your GP.

I went to an apothercary a couple of years ago and there was a whole wall full of the stuff under different brands and for different ages sedative or non sedative from tixylix to the opiumated Gees linctus,,Simple Linctus..is the nhs preferred choice cos its cheap as chips and does the same job...a bit like paraceutamol and panadol..Go for that

try the old fashioned method : bowl of hot water with a couple of drops of mentholated oil in and breath in the steam.great for loosening mucus in the lungs. and best of all it costs next to nothing.

I dont know if they sell it in the UK, but here in the states, you can buy something called Mucinex. If they dont have it in the stores there, you can always order it off the net.
