"...There is only humankind’s construction of evil, and the devil is its figurehead, so to speak. It was devised out of ignorance to explain the inequities of life on this hellhole of a planet...." .

do people, in this age and world, actually believe that there is an entity called devil (or satan)?

You are definitely right.
If God creates some entity more powerful than man to cheat him, then man is not responsible for his evil actions. While, in reality, man is endowed with the free will to make responsible choice.

People do believe there is an entity of evil. They are justified in that belief. What that entity is or how it defines itself is probably more complex than the mortal construct given it, namely the Devil or Demons. Evil is, of this there is no doubt, how it concentrates and what form it manifests in are continually attempted to be explained by independent cultures cross the world and the ages. Even now, in this time of reason, evil remains.

Note: These are my opinions please do not take them personally.

Yes theres no devil and niether GOD.
This wolrd is based on the principle of duality.
It is not possible that only one thing can exist. Means you cannot say that I want coins only with Heads. When you chose a coin, you will have Heads and Tails both.
So it is not possible that only peace, happiness, good will exist. Cruelty, sorrow, poverty will always be there.
Day cannot be recognised without night and same way happiness cannot be recognised without sorrow. And so on.

So,
the side we always wished for becomes our GOD and we always feared becomes our evil.

You have both of these within you.
You can chek them anytime. Your feelings keep changing, When you are in good mood you feel like sacrificing everything for anyone and when you are angry you want to burn this world out. Right?
Whats this?
Devil and GOD are within you.

Yes, as for your opinion?

Col 2:8 Don't let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the evil powers of this world,* and not from Christ.

As for who Satan is ?

Who is Satan?

The word 'satan' is the Hebrew transliteration of the word 'adversary.' Therefore, Satan is the one who opposes God. Satan, is the most powerful of the fallen angels. Satan, also known as Lucifer and the Devil, is said to be the one who entered the Garden of Eden and convinced Eve to disobey God. There is debate among scholars regarding the time of the fall of Satan. Some say that he fell when he moved Eve to disobey God. Others state that Satan fell sometime before that and merely manifested his adversarial nature in the Garden. Still others say that there was a great battle in heaven long before the Garden of Eden and that Satan took one third of the angels with him.

"And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.4And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth . . . " (Rev. 12:3-4).

Of course, the first mention of the devil is found in the Garden of Eden, but it isn't until the post-exilic period (538 B.C.) that the figure of Satan is more prominently displayed: Job 1-2 Zech. 3:1-2; and 1 Chron. 21:1.1
Satan is mentioned in the gospels many times:

Matt. 4:1, "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."
Mark 3:23, "And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 'And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.'"
John 13:2, "And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him."
The motive for Satan's rebellion may very well be found in the following verses.

"How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! 13"But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’" (Isaiah 14:12-14).

In the future, there will be a judgment where the devil will be cast out :

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" (Rev. 12:9).

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but yes...I do believe in Satan. I believe in God, too. I believe what the Bible tells me.....and those are two certainties....

Sometimes, intellectualism can backfire on you. Religion is a good example of that. Because, religion is a spiritual medium. One that can only be understood in a spiritual way.

It's not so much about logic. So, those of us who are not in close touch with our spiritual selves.....have trouble with it.

I'm a very intelligent woman. I am forty years old, and have a lot of life experiences to base my beliefs on. I, particularly learned a LOT when I was present during the dying processes of some family members.

It's all real, Hon. You're brain can't explain everything. Sometimes, you have to believe what your heart tells you.

Whatever 'evil' things man can come up with, it still has to be within the realm of God. Both light AND dark ought to be part of Him. He, after all, is the All_in_One.

Interestingly, there is NO devil equivalent in Hinduism... NO EVIL INTENT PER SE. - only Yama - a stooge of Shiva.

There is light and there is darkness. These reflect the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. The Ruler of the kingdom of light is God. The ruler of the kingdom of darkness is the devil. If there is no devil there will be no darkness at all!

No, I think the idea of an actual devil is absurd, as is the idea of a god. Both are simply creations of the human mind. Your quote was pretty much identical to my views.
