Find out all you can from all your living family and friends of family. If your Grandfather came through Ellis Island, as many did, there's records there...if only a name. You could place an add in County Cork newspapers. I did a quick search and came up with this one, http://www.unison.ie/southern_star/ and i'm sure there's several more. Include your email address in the ad you place so people aren't spending money on a phone call or stamp to reach you....I bet someone there knew him or his family. Type your Grandfather's name in seach engines, etc. and see what you turn up; there may be a "society" with the same last name as your Grandfather. You probably won't be able to do it all on the web, though. Eventually you'll have to do some leg work. Happy Hunting!
