Like anything your addicted to, in moderation. Start out taking in less and less sugar, until it goes away.
Best bet would be snacking smartly. Fruits, veggies, non-fatty foods such as granola bars would be good substitutes.
Next best bet, discipline. Tell yourself, I'll have X amount of sugar/candy whatever, then stick to it.
I've been addicted to caffeine in soda's, and so what I did was cut it out completely. I don't recommend this for anyone, but after a good few months, the cravings are lower, I still have them, but at least when I see a soda, I won't pop it open, but seek something else.
I wish you the best. Good luck.

Watch out your breakfast and eat flours and cereals, not only fruits or coffe with sugar, Flous keep sugar level at "post prandial level" for a longer time, and you will get less need of sugars.
During a craving, go and drink a glass of water, and then return to do some work, or depending on your schedule, go for a walk.

Give yourself three days of a low-sugar diet and your cravings will be diminished (I'm not saying it's easy but it does work!)
