I see all this in the media about swingers clubs and mile high adventures, and it really trips me out.

No, you are not a prude but I think you already know that. I mean you can't read or see anything about sex without tripping over the amount of advice telling you to wait for love or even marriage.

Most people will read the first half of your question and say yeah, stick with your ideals. But the second half of your question shows that maybe you have some curiosity about how the non-idealists (everyone who answered your question including me) live.

I see the second half of your question as asking this: Is there any value in casual sex?

The answer is yes. Sometimes, there are simply people that you're attracted to and yes, as long as both parties agree to "the rules" then hooking up is ok.

What are the rules? Well that's between you and your partner. But it should always include maintaining mutual respect, dignity, and safer sex practices.

Once you establish "the rules", the rest is up to the two of you (or dare I say, the three of you). Don't worry about if what you're doing is "normal". What's routine for one couple may be well past what you feel is acceptable. And some of your friends may be like, "I'd never do THAT" but THAT may be how you get down.

The most important thing is that in whatever sexual relationship you're in, you feel comfortable enough to enjoy, explore and you don't feel pressured to do anything you don't want.

Casual sex relationships can be fun, exciting and satisfying but you have to be willing to let go when it's over. It is possible to have sex without emotional attachment but if you find yourself catching feelings for the other person or if they fall for you and you're not interested in something longer term, then you're not just breaking up an emotional attachment but a physical one. Whoever was the first to say "sex complicates things" was not lying.

If you're looking to fall in love, you may want to wait for Mr. or Ms. Right (you really didn't say who you were looking for and far be it from me to assume).

Either way, there's nothing wrong with waiting for the love of your life to explore Pleasure Principles.

Call me old fashion but yes, I truly think there should be something there prior to going to bed with someone. But today's teens and young adults, that's no longer the norm. These last two generations seems to be a height of a newer and more care-free at the peak of another sexual revolution. With raves and sex drugs, it makes it more exciting to them to be high while being fully aroused while doing it to last even longer than imagined. It's unfortunate since these actions lead more to the increase of sexual diseases and more marital break-ups from unfaithfulness.

You should always follow your heart. You can never be wrong in how you feel when it comes to doing something that is from your heart. Don't let other people judge you of your beliefs or choices. That's what's wrong with a lot of people today...falling into peer pressure. I hope it will always guide you in the right direction =)

You are not a prude! You are just someone who follows your heart. Some people sleep around which is fine if they use protection and other people wait for the one they love. Personally, I like knowing that my partner is the only one to have been with me.
Everybody has there own opinion and is free to live how they want.

If a 'prude' is what you are, then congratulations, young lady. You are one of a minority but there should be more gals out there like you. Yesterday, a girls' question was: "I slept with him after two dates what are my chances that he will stick around?" And the guys all said basically: "He is all ready gone!" Save it and be proud of it. Your special man will appreciate and love you more for having such high morals and that you think more of yourself than other gals. Good for you!!!! ;)

Not at all ! I think that's great. If this is how you feel then don't let anyone persuade you to do something you really don't want to. This is important to you and if any man can not appreciate that then screw him (not literally, lol) this will get all the a**holes out the way and make room for the man who is to be your husband. (maybe I should have done that, oh well too late for me)

No, that's not being a prude. That's just standing up for what you believe. If that's your belief, then don't let anybody change your mind. Personally, I agree with you.

No, you're not a prude, it's just how you believe love and sex should be at this point in your life. That may change, it may not. But you are not wrong for feeling how you do. You're only wrong if you feel everyone should feel as you do and judge them if they do not. But it doesn't sound like you're like that. :-)

You're not a prude. The world would be in better shape if more people thought like you.

Good for you, Missy! Stick with it! Love has to be? For anyone to make it worth it. They are all shallow? And you're much too Classy, to go that way. Let them live as they want? You'll be much more happier than they ever will. God Love you, Ma'am.
