Yes, it is. But so is anger, hatred, happiness and every other human emotion...

Neuroscience today knows of specific neurotransmitters - chemicals - that are secreted in our body during specific emotional states such as ager, happiness, even hunger.

HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT THOUGH :- The fact that these chemicals are observed in the human body during, say,Love does not automatically imply causality - it does NOT mean the chemical_in_blood is CAUSING the state of love, only ASSOCIATED with the state.

So...this essentially becomes a mind_or_matter question. Is the mind (feeling of love) caused by the matter (neurotransmitters) OR IS IT THE REVERSE?

This is the core quest and the point of view is up to you .

Yes,why because sooner or later when the biological need gets satisfied trouble begins to start. If we make a sincere survey on people who made love marriages it can be seen that most of the cases are unsuccessful, I being a male my personal experience is that whenever I began to think about a girl whom I love certain reaction takes place in the body ,I hope that it is applicable to a female also .Attracting an opposite sex is natural ,the ultimate aim of which is physical satisfaction ,for that the body starts preparing thus some sort of chemical reaction takes place.

Love is not an emotion, or any type of reaction, it is your very existence.
Here are the signs of love. When you love someone, you see nothing wrong with them.
When you love someone, you want to see them always happy and you want them to have the best.
Love is the highest strength, yet it makes you absolutely weak
Love cannot tolerate distance, and hatred cannot tolerate nearness.
You can experience love, but you cannot describe it or express it totally.
Love is beyond sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound.
When there is Love, there is no ego; ego dissolves like the dew drops with the sun.
In the company of one who is living Love, you also cant but spring into that Love.
Love is that phenomenon of dissolving, disappearing, merging, becoming one with.
Love is that phenomenon of total letting go.
The seers, the seen, and the process of seeing all merge. The knowledge, the knower, and the known, they all merge, become one & that is Divine Love.

nicely no rely if that's a chemical reaction, then it continues to be very actual interior the experience that something is occurring on your strategies to make you "love" somebody. i'm confident its a mix of many things, chemistry purely being a small element of it. you're able to share the comparable pastimes, have fun with spending time jointly, and be bodily involved in the guy to a pair degree (that's probable the quantity of the chemical function). Love is unquestionably actual, any way you desire to think of roughly it.

I think that lust is a chemical reaction.

I think that "being in love' is a chemical reaction.

I think that "love" is not.

Love is a commitment to another person, and is not diminished when the chemical reaction of lust is not present. It is a commitment of goodwill, of caring, of supportiveness, of comforting, of working with, of appreciation...

Love is spiritual which is eternal and full of knowledge and bliss
Lust is material which is temporary and source of misery later on.

Some wise loving words from A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)
When a living entity comes in contact with the material creation, his eternal love for Krishna is transformed into lust, in association with the mode of passion. Or, in other words, the sense of love of God becomes transformed into lust, as milk in contact with sour tamarind is transformed into yogurt. Then again, when lust is unsatisfied, it turns into wrath; wrath is transformed into illusion, and illusion continues the material existence. Therefore, lust is the greatest enemy of the living entity, and it is lust only which induces the pure living entity to remain entangled in the material world. Wrath is the manifestation of the mode of ignorance; these modes exhibit themselves as wrath and other corollaries. If, therefore, the mode of passion, instead of being degraded into the mode of ignorance, is elevated to the mode of goodness by the prescribed method of living and acting, then one can be saved from the degradation of wrath by spiritual attachment.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead expanded Himself into many for His ever-increasing spiritual bliss, and the living entities are parts and parcels of this spiritual bliss. They also have partial independence, but by misuse of their independence, when the service attitude is transformed into the propensity for sense enjoyment, they come under the sway of lust. This material creation is created by the Lord to give facility to the conditioned souls to fulfill these lustful propensities, and when completely baffled by prolonged lustful activities, the living entities begin to inquire about their real position.
