You want bling or you're a budding weight weenie: Tune carbon bottle cages @ 9 grams each. Must use Elite water bottles with the slight taper to the body.

Otherwise: Elite Ciussi and Tacx Allure cages are handsome, classic shaped yet different from plain jane cages. Very reliable too. My preference: Tacx Allure (just because it looks better on my bike).

Specialized has a carbon/plastic cage that is very nice and not too expensive, but if you have the money, go for the Campagnolo bottle & cage (around 40 bucks)

otherwise, a basic aluminum cage will be more practical and not really a difference on the weight...

Why are you sticking with Trek/Bonny? Any light weight alli cage will do (About £3.00). If you really want to waste your money there is a carbon fibre version on the market.

Sure, go with carbon if you want to be smarmy and spend a lot. Or you can go with a King Iris stainless cage. Lightweight, no corrosion, good looks, and you can take some Flitz to them to make them shine. Run about $14 each.

You just spent $5000 or more on a bike and you are wondering about the cages?
