Yes, in older English manners it was seen as impolite.
You just sit back adn wait for it to cool itself.
As for food, waiting game is the same also.
Women were seen as refined creatures, so you werent to show anyone that you blow on food, as it was seen as vulgar and uncommon. It showed that you were starving adn hungry to take adn eat something immedialty. Patience was key back in those days!

No, of course not. What makes that impolite? I think it's perfectly fine -- as long as you're not blowing on it so hard that it goes splashing everywhere! Same for hot food.

Yes, people may think it is impolite to blow in your hot drink, well it is.
It is rude because it can tend to splash and it would be much better to wait for it to cool down.
If you do it without making a mess, it would be ok.

Yes, it is impolite. Use a spoon and stir until the appropriate temperature is reached.
Blowing on food .... if you're hungry enough, you eat small bites until it reaches the right temperature.
Would you want people, sitting across the table from you, blowing on their food? Hope they took care of their halitosis! LOL

Strictly speaking yes, in posh company. It's not necessarily the kind of thing that would be offensive in an informal setting (i.e. if you're trying to teach the kids good table manners there are lots of other things to worry about first) but it's not really a hanging offence.

some people may not have the time to sit and let it cool down, as long as they are the one eating it i really dont see a problem.
now what i dont like is when a mother lickes her finger and then wipes a smudge off of a baby, Yikes get a wet wipe.

It is bad manners. If you are in hurry you call for another container to help cool your drink or food.Iam sure you can also have time to eat or drink slowly without necessarily blowing in or calling for second container to cool it.Have a mannerly time.

Whats wrong with doing that? As long as you aren't blowing into someone else's drink, I really don't see what the problem is.

Just stir it. The spoon cools down faster than the water in the tea.
