What do you think of Liam Gallagher's opinion on the Bible? (Please note the lack of profanity as all swear or ''curse'' words have been blanked out.)

He said in a 1995 interview:

"I'll tell you about the bible-there's no pictures in it. How can you buzz off a book, right, without no pictures in it? You've got to have one picture floating about. If there ain't no pictures in a book, you can ---- right off! I want to see Jesus getting off his ---- and smashing the stalls up. I want to see Jesus walking on wine...or whatever, walking across water going, 'Waaahhey, I'm a geezer.' But there's no pictures to prove it. There's no pictures to prove that Jesus turned water into wine, I know he did and I know he's a geezer, but a book without pictures is a s--- book."

Look, he's not exactly a role model for me either!! :-)

I remember reading this quote years ago, it convinced me that Gallagher's 'rock star thicko' act was just that - an act. NOBODY can be stupid enough to say something like he did above and be serious. I reckon he's just a wind-up merchant with a big trap.

He's wrong. I've got a superb bible with lovely medieval illuminated illustrations in it. adam and eve, jonah and the whale, david and goliath, the geezer turnin water into wine, the lot!

Walking on wine is hilarious!!! What a character.

Liam has clearly never looked at the Children's Bible, which is full of pictures of a long-haired and scarily blue-eyed Jesus petting lambs and looking solemn.

I guess he wouldn't like the Qur'an either, then.

He is one of the great sages of our time. He is like Jesus in that he speaks to a greater truth and is not bound by conventional wisdom. I have always found Liam a delight to listen to.

Hello wild amber.
When one reads a book their mind gets the picture.
That is what reading is all about
God the Holy Spirit is the one who makes the word alive and powerful to the individual who is searching for the truth.
Take care!

What do you expect of a buffoon like Liam Gallagher?
His opinion of the bible, or anything else, would mean nothing to me.
The opinions of such people carry no weight as far as I am concerned.

typical atheist. we're talking about the year 30+AD, yet atheists demand digital photographic proof. i'm surprised he didn't ask for a blu-ray hi-def DVD of Jesus performing miracles
