I have seen some strange things in my time dealing with computers, but this is new to me. I have a computer that has what seems to be a jpg image file, but it cannot be opened with any program, nor can it be deleted, even from safe mode. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it? (without reformatting the hard drive)

It could have a system file attribute that won't let you remove it. How big is the file?

To find out what attribute flags it has, use the attrib command.

attrib -a -r -s -h should do it.
