I am over weight, by about 50 lbs, 25 kgs, whatever way you want to look at it. Should I still consider dieting?
Is it not enough that teh 2 major killers are ok, I feel perfectly well, otherwise, no health issues at all..
Lucky me..

I do exercise, I walk my dog everyday and go swimming twice a week..I've always tried to eat well, I don't eat fried foods, well chips once a month . I've always been heavy, stocky . I'd love to loose the weight, but get frustrated after 10 weeks, and give up

Its like a game of chance really. It is up to you ultimately how much effort you are prepared to go to to stay in the game.
There is no umpire in the sky keeping score for you, no one saying you did quite well we'll give you some bonus points.
Statistically at least the more you do to get it right the better. You knew the answer to your own question. 25Kg is a fair bit of extra weight to carry around. It dramatically increases the risk that you will become diabetic and that of course will increase your risk of heat attacks and strokes.

I have the same issue. My doctor recently gave me a physical and everything checked out for me internally. I'm in great health. I do, however weigh 150 lbs and am only 5'2". According to the BMI chart, that's not good news. I exercise 5 days per week and have an excellent diet...
I just have an athletic build and I happen to be quite muscular. I don't really worry about what the chart 'says' I should be. As long as I have a regular exercise routine, I eat halthy food and I feel good about how I look, that's all that matters to me.
If you want to go on a diet, you can. I wouldn't say that HAVE to do so.

If you are overweight you do risk many of the diseases that are life threatening - even if things seem alright now - so yes I would lose the extra weight. I used a programme from Diet and Wellness and I lost a stone and a half in 6 weeks. There is help ans support too - so you can keep motivated. For me just losing 2/3 lbs every week was motivation enough.

How about silent diseases that can't be detected in usual ways? For example, gall bladder stones. If you are not having a scan then you can't detect it, unless it starts to give you bad pains, in which case it's already too late and they have to take them out. Even with normal blood pressure you can develop heart diseases later on. My mum has never had a blood pressure problem and now she's got an on-going heart condition that they have to monitor regularly. If you lose that extra 25kg you will notice that life is much easier too, you don't have to walk around with that weight. Try it! When you've lost the weight then attach something that weighs 25kg to your body and walk around with it. Then you'll soon notice how easier life is without the weight.

Yes try and lose the weight and exercise regularly. I didn't exercise, carried a bit too much weight and ended up with a heart problem, could have died. A stent saved me. I also had normal cholesterol and blood pressure. Now I have to exercise every day, take pills to stay alive and can't eat any fatty foods. It's worth doing something now rather than wait till it's serious.

You are presently healthy, a perfect time to incorporate good habits that will keep you that way. By getting as close as you can to your ideal weight (and fat percentage) you are doing your future self a favor. While being overweight is not going to guarantee you a lifetime of health problems, it is an indicating factor in the development of diabetes, arthritis and a host of other age-associated problems. Take it slow, exercise and seek out a nutritionist who can guide you. Good luck & stay healthy!

You don't mention your age. But being overweight is putting pressure on every part of your body - your joints will suffer as a result when you're older. Also, just for the self-respect it's worthwhile losing excess weight - you'll feel fantastic when you hit your target weight and it's a wonderful excuse to go shopping. I know, I've been there and lost it!

Not dieting, exactly, but eating smaller portions of healthy stuff, and saving the chocs, or whatever your weaknes is, for an occasional treat. Upping your exercise is just as important. You may feel fine now, but who knows what problems you are storing up for the future.
Now, if only I could take my own advice...

Good for you that the tests have come back normal. To help keep things that way, you should look at losing some of that weight.
