The bible uses the expression "last days" to refer to the concluding time period leading to to a divinely appointed execution that marks the end of a system of things. The Jewish system with its worship built around the temple in Jerusalem experienced its last days from 33 to 70 ce. What occurred the was pictorial of what would be experienced in a greatly intensified way and on a global scale at a time when all nations would be facing the execution of judgment decreed by God. the present wicked systems of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the "great tribulation"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bible describes events and conditions that mark this significant time period.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"NATIONS WILL RISE AGAINST NATIONS AND KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM" Matt. 24:7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'THERE WILL BE FOOD SHORTAGES...IN ONE PLACE AFTER ANOTHER" Matt:24:7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"THERE WILL BE GREAT EARTH QUAKES" Luke 21:11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"IN ONE PLACE AFTER ANOTHER PESTILENCES" Luke 21:11
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"INCREASED LAWLESSNESS ACCOMPANIED BY A COOLING OFF OF LOVE ON THE PART OT THE GREATER NUMBER"
Matt. 24:11,12
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
War has marred life on earth for thousands of years. International wars and wars within nations have bben fought.
there have been many famines in human history. World war has lead to to widespread starvation in Europe and Asia. Africa has been stricken by drought.
At the close of the first world war the Spanish flu swept around the globe, claiming upwards to 20 million lives and at a rate unparalleled in the history of disease. Despite advances in medical science, a haevy toll is exacted every year by cancer, heart disease , numerous sexually transmitted dieseases, multiple sclerosis, malaria, river bliness, and changas' disease
There is a pervasive and persistent increase of crime everywhere. The increase is real; it is not merely a matter of bvetter reporting. It is true, past genreations had criminals too, but never before has crime been as pervasive as it is now.

Well, Im a christian, and about 10 years ago....I had a dream about the rapture (end of the world) and at the time, I was 12 so I remember seeing myself on a swing, playing. Then I was walking with someone, I don't know who but I know it was a male. We weren't walking on the sidewalk but on the side streets and I remember walking on rocky concrete and I began to look up. I saw the clouds form into a face and heard it say "This is the end". People came from out of nowhere in the middle of the street and looked as well. I heard screaming then I remember lava covering our feet, constantly building, and I remember dissolving and hearing someone playing the piano. It was the weirdest dream I ever had. So weird that I woke up crying and screaming for Jesus. and I dont know if I was hallucinating, but I could of sworn that I seen a spirit run out of the room. Im 22 and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

This is a period when God will wipe away all the evil doers and not the physical creatures and features of our beautiful world like the waters, trees, etc
Similar event took place during the days of Noah if we read the Bible. The world was destroyed, ie it ended.
If we trust the Bible and history of divine destructions of certain places eg Sodom and Gomorrah etc. There is every reason to believe that there will be an end to this world in the sense i expressed earliar.

The world isn't going to end any time soon. Religious prophesy is only conjecture, and most was made in the days when the world was considered flat, round, and ended just off the coast of Portugal. Different religions have different dates, but it is their best interests to keep their flock worried by projecting a date in the middle distance, but still indistinct. It keeps the sheep close to the croft.

Well I personally think that the greatest threat to the planet is us and I think that is more that an opinion, I think it is the truth but I'd have a tough time proving it. So if the world ends anytime soon it will be our doing. This is from a purely scientific standpoint, not religious. Anyway it will be caused either by us or something we are powerless to stop like a body from outer space like a meteor that we dont detect soon enough to stop.

very few people believe it. merely some gullible youthful ones and new-age wackos who would have performed better if that that they had reduce down on the leisure drugs. Predictions of doom in 2012 are a collection of fairytales, made up via those who opt for to sound major yet did not take adequate technological expertise in college. each and each one in each of their claims can really be disproved. there'll be no pole shift, Planet X/Nibiru, deadly image voltaic typhoon, uncommon alignment, photon belt nor the different of the made-up nonsense. this is only a heap of garbage.

Ths skies tell no lies.
It may come as a surprise
to tell the tale of our demise.
Watch the mushroom cloud rise.
Nuclear weapons? eehhhh...doubtful.
Meteor? Now we're talking. Whether or not the human race is still inhabiting the Earth, at some point in time, something big will hit this planet with enough force as to cause our extinction.

We are witnessing the decline of the earth’s environment and resources, a prophetic fulfillment of the Bible.
At the Fourth SEAL, one-fourth part of the earth is to be destroyed before we move forward to the next Seal events (Re.6:7-8 below).
Once the one-fourth part is destroyed, we will move through the SEAL events, followed by the Seven TRUMPET events, and, finally, the Seven Last PLAGUE events.
When the world faces acts of terrorism are we not facing beasts of the earth (Re.6:8, Jude 1:10-11, Titus 1:12, 2 Pet.2:11-13 below)?
Re.6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
Re.6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the FOURTH PART of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Beasts of the Earth -
Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (1 Jn.3:12, Matt.13:38), and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
2 Pet 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
2 Pet.2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
2 Pet.2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
