First thing that I thought of was bread/toast. Then I thought of meats that have a different name for the animal than the food we eat: calf/veal, cow/beef, pig/pork, sheep/mutton, pigeon/squab. Then there is pork which becomes ham when cured or smoked. Another item that came to mind is sweetbreads which are the thymus and pancreas of either a calf or cow. I am sure there are tons more.
