its really quite simple.
imagine you are making a trip from one end of the country to another. you already started at one point, and will inevitably get to the destination.
and there are certain landmarks along that trip that you are certain to hit as well.
but in large, the space between the landmarks, in the part remaining between where you currently are on the path, and the destination, is NOT carved in stone. theres a big amount of flexability in the path between each landmark, and the certainty of each landmark has varying degrees of importance, both individually and collectively.
Free Will comes in 2 forms.
1) your greater self planning the desination and landmarks, of the journey before that life.
2) your concious self chosing which specific means of traveling between each landmark as it goes.

Because you decide your destiny. If you hand your life over to God's control then He will direct your future for you for His glory not yours.Your destiny is assured in His good Graces.
Should you decide in your life time here to stay away from God then He will have nothing to do with you. Simple. Your destiny is in your hands or Gods hands. You have the free will to decide for yourself.

Because destiny can only be viewed in the past tense. Same with the word luck. You can say I WAS lucky but you can never say I am going to be lucky.

God knows what we are going to do because He is all knowing, but we have free will to make our own decisions.
