Abraham was a nomad. When God made this covenant with him, he was also childless. Note that God did not say that Abram would inherit the land, but his descendents would. So, what did God's promise require of Abram? Faith. Abram had to believe and trust in God's word. So, was God faithful to his word? Yes. Abram did have two sons, and they produced offspring. Did the offspring of this nomadic wanderer take control of the land? I think it is important to note the verses directly before what was said in Gen 15:18. It says:

Gen 15:13-16...Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."

So, when was this promise to be fulfilled? It was after the exile from Egypt. The Hebrews did take control of the land, and governed it for centuries.

Now a covenant requires something out of both parties. God had promised to bless Abram and his offspring. What was required of Abram in the deal? Abram was to have obedient faith in God. Abram kept his part of the covenant, as did the Lord. However, through the centuries to follow, Abram's descendents did not honor their end of the covenant. They worshipped idols and adopted some of the practices of the heathen nations around them. Thus, they broke the covenant with God and were run over by the Babylonian & Persian Empires. Their lands were taken from them, and they returned to a life as wanderers in a strange land.

The whole point in all this isn't about "claiming territory". Rather, its about faith in God...its about us (His children) showing faithfulness in word and deed. Abram (or his descendents) didn't "deserve" the land...it was a gift from God. By faith, we too hold to the promises of God. Our gift from God isn't a plot of land and some earthly kingdom...rather, it's the eternal kingdom in the hereafter. Unfortunately, people tend to see the physical part of God's promise (and interpret it according to their own desires), and totally miss the spiritual significance...

The Jewish were God's chosen. I certainly have nothing against the Jews but when are you guys going to start thinking for yourselves. God sent His Son down to free you of your sins and you reject him and kill him. Why? I know this is the way it had to be but did you have to be involved? Get a life people. As a matter of fact, get an eternal life and know that Jesus is your Messiah and your Savior. Quit being stupid all your existence...

Why not Kimo? You're going to be dead anyways so how is this stewardship going to affect your emotions or your life?
Read Ecclesiastes; the book explains succinctly the vanity of it all! There is a great amount of wisdom in that book and it was written by a hebrew as well. The Lord Jesus was a Rabbi, that is a Jewish teacher in case you've never realized that.
So go ahead leave it to the Jewish man or woman. Odds are their stewardship will increase the worthiness of the land.

if your not a jew, nor a christain, it was never 'your land' which was stolen from the jews by barbaric arabs.

if you are serious about this, by all means leave, and you will face no dissrespect from us.

and a bastard child has no rights of inheritance ( that means ishmael has no rights to anything promised to abraham. only jacob has that right, for he was chosen by god to lead the Jewish people, and by extension, the christains.)

I thought Muslims were also the descendants of Abraham and that's where the confusion came in. Abraham's two sons... Isaac and Ishmael.

Of course, you shouldn’t. There are many empty places in the world for them to live in.. Or they feel more stability when they tear countries and peoples by lies? I really feel that is like silly kids speech: " Oh, leave it to me, Papa said it’s mine".

Oh, what a furstrating, cruel and unfair world...
