You've almost answered the question yourself - if you've made it progressed in life and love who cares where you come from. In fact you've probably worked harder and progressed further than anyone who had it handed to them on a plate.

Our past may play a major part of daily lifes today. Suppose one had one or more major terrible, horrible things happen to them; for example....being raped, brutally, loss of limbs, can't focus on keeping a job, home being destroyed, family business being destroyed, and sometimes a very beloved pet can cause a sensitive person to become withdrawn. But cheer up- the human spirit is very powerful, but the person has to be willing to make a great turnaround.

Yes, I think it matters because if you made it and you are well off. Someone helped you achive it along the way and told you can do it. So chances are you could help someone that is poor or help someone that does think there is any hope out there. So to answer your question it does matter.

No I dont think it matters personally but some people really have issues with it and play a lot on their past which bring problems into the future of the relationship.

Yes & No.. No it doesnt matter about the past - Love is more important - but yes, it can make a difference to the future. Be warned - your experiences make you who you are - too much difference can "Change" things over time...

It might matter more to you, if you've overcome obstacles and can now appreciate your happiness, than to someone who has never seen the other side. Sometimes we need the darkness to appreciate the light.

to a large extent it doesn't matter but i realised that people who came from nothing and made their way up by themselves manage to have a disciplined lifestyle better than those born with silver spoons in their mouths. this is personal opinion though.
