They'll probably be okay, but don't leave them unattented to play.
The older cat may get to aggressive with the baby and hurt it accidently.

hi yes it is because i have a 9 year old cat he was the man of the house spoiled and i loved him to death well i brought a 6 week old kitten home and it took them a few weeks to get use to each other the fight with each other still after two years but its there way of playing my cats love each other and they learn each others limits so just let them play sometimes it looks like they are going to kill each other but in the long run they really love each other. They eat out of the same bowl, sleep togearther even clean each other and cuddle up next to each other. They learn each others temperments when to play or when they want to be left alone Ididnt think my older cat would ever get along with an cat,Its been 3 years now and they love each other there really cute togearther and great buddys so let them battle it out themselfs

absolutely, but always monitor them together. Don't let them play together when you are not around just incase the little one is scared. The older one will want to show the younger one who is boss, but this is how cats bond. If the 7 week old knows u are close by he will enjoy the older cats harassment!

Looks like fighting, doesn't it? Even with growling, hissing etc.

What you don't want to hear is a "yelp", because somebody got a little rough, and it might have been the little one! Usually playfighting cats will immediately stop if there's an accident, and if they seem OK afterwards, it's cool.

Also, check out who initiates play. If the little one goes after the big one half the time or better, it's honest play and not domination.

Just be careful that the older cat isn't getting to aggressive with the younger one, he may be jealous. If so separate them and wait until the younger on gets big enough to defend himself. always give the older cat lots of attention, so he doesn't get jealous.
