The Mayan calender ends in 2012 but I don't know if that's when they determined the world would end or if they just ran out of paper.
I think Notradameus writings also mention 2012 as the year a comet would strike the earth but I'm not a follower of his prophecies.

UNtrue - the Aztec's calendar ends THIS cycle in 2012 - it doesn't mean they believed the world would end.Merely that this cycle of the calendar would end, bringing change with the new cycle Change does not mean end; they weren't thinking it would end. Nor does any other religion or culture specifiy that year exactly.
It's misunderstanding and garbling of what is actually believed into this idea that the world is ending in 5 years.
Keep living your life - it's going to be going on for it's full length, and i doubt that full length is less than 5 years.

I didn't hear about this.
The Hopi and the Aztecs had no idea that civilisation existed on the other side of the Atlantic, much less had the knowledge of what Israel was or could be.

I like how you've twisted the facts to support your beliefs there.
In the years coming up to 2000 many people believed the world would end on May 4th 2000. Then after that didn't happen people changed the year to 2001. Now it's 2012? Where do you get these figures?

The bible actually doesnt say that exactly, read the passage again. I think it was actually the fact that the aztec? or was it the mayan calender predicts massive change (not the end of our existence) in dec of 2012.

I read in a book for a christian priest* that the world would end in 1998.. and we are in 2007 and nothing happenned... I mean no one can know or predict when the end of the world will be because God is the only one who knows when it will be..
* It is only an example. I don’t mean any insult to my fellow christians whom I really respect.
Peace be with you...

Last generation? If people born in 1948 were to be the last generation, my parents wouldn't exist - I certainly wouldn't exist, neither would you.
Think a little.

it reminds me of that Nostradamus stuff some years back. Notice how Rome wasn't destroyed in 1997 by a silver fish(submarine launched nuke)? Its 2013 you have to look out for on a Friday 13th. ewwww the thought sends shivers up and down my spine

Silly, ancient Mayan superstition. Their civilization and "world" ended LOOONG ago--way before 2012, obviously. Why apply THEIR superstition to yours?
