just bought a second hand set top box canmt seem to sey it up just says no signal its got top up tv in it as well but its never been used what aerials have to be put where ive got a dvd player as well thanks people

Make sure you have connected it up correctly and that your TV aerial is of a good enough standard to receive the signal from the transmitter. Very often, in low signal areas, the strength of signal is insufficient to 'collect' and a high gain aerial is required.

any aerial will do, you have to make sure the aerial is plugged into the actuall set top box, but some times it's difficult to get signal, some reas are very low, walk around the room witrh the aerial, dvd player will work fine just plug it into the back with a scart lead.

your aerial needs to be able to pick up digital signals for a start.

the aerial goes in the set top box and a lead goes from that to the tv. also if you can use a scart lead, you get a better picture that way. if you cant most boxes are set to channel 42 so just tune your tv into that...

hi , you must have a freeview compatable aerial on the roof, and that plugs directly into the freeview box, then you will have a patch lead that goes from the box into the tv. or a scart lead from box to tv.
