If you accept that idea, do you consider hunting to be a type of fishing?

i actually stalk fish when I'm in still-waters. i live in British Columbia and some of the lakes are crystal clear with mud bottoms so you can see the fish and learn their cruising patterns then predict where they will happen to go. on rivers knowing where the fish will lie at certain times of the day and season is most important to a successful fishing trip.
i would say yes it is a form of hunting.
on another note the people that complain about fishing and hunting have never purchased a license. the funds for enhancement projects are derived from the fees that fishermen and hunters pay for the privilege. without projects to stock and manage populations of any game (fish or animal) there would be a whole lot less.

People who complain about fishing and hunting are totally ignorant of facts. They do not realize the amount of money and effort fisherman and hunters put forth to PRESERVE nature in general because what's good for the environment is good for all.Hunters and fisherman do more for the environment than all the ANTI'S combined. Of course fishing is a form of hunting but you have a choice to release with fishing.Remember that the apostles were fishermen. Would you criticize that too? Your time would be better spent planting a tree by a river (shade for fish, animals homes ) and plenty of nuts you could call friends. Please remember your right to remain scilent.

Fishing does contain one aspect of a "true" sport that hunting does not offer. It is called a successful catch and live release. I have yet to see a successful live release of anything having had large caliber bullets hurled at it. No, I am not attacking a hunters right to pursue meat to feed his family with nor am I advocating the release of all caught fish for I think nothing tastes better or is as beneficial to ones self as fresh caught game or fish. All animals have the God given right to taste good when cooked over an open flame.

I agree that fishing in its basic form can be classed as a form of hunting. However, in the UK one of the reasons we have any fish at all left in our inland waters is because of the fish stocking and preservation work done by fishing organisations. In fact many have been responsible for recovery and beautiful landscaping of old gravel, chalk and clay pits. The idea that fishing is a cruel sport is of course complete nonsense as fish do not feel pain and the majority of fishermen take great care to ensure their fish are not damaged. It is only trout and salmon fisheries were fish are killed and in these cases it is done quickly and the fish are eaten as food - so no better or worse than any other form or meat production.

Fishing is a type of hunting but recreational fishermen do a lot towards conserving fish stocks and the enviroment so that there sport will remain viable, Unlike professional fisherman that drag massive nets around the ocean and catch everthing in it's path (including Dolphins) this 'bycatch' is then thrown away (dead of course) this isn't considered sport or hunting this is commercial vandalism!

Jehovah enable us understand that once the flood eating meat and fish become advantageous. He has no longer replaced considering then on the count number. it doesn't count number slightly in case you purchase it on the shop or receive it your self. Ones "wanting" isn't an challenge. If someone hunts, of route there are criteria as to coping with the blood, proper bleeding, pouring it on the floor. of route there are countless criminal criteria besides, licensing, searching seasons, and others. Its being obedient to the better authority. I for one, like to fish, yet have not been in a position to or had a lot of a desire to seek. Many brothers do and performance been loving adequate to share distinct the beef, moose, pricey, black submit to. All solid stuff. So, for now searching and fishing is advantageous, of route an persons sense of accurate and incorrect is major to. If that sense of accurate and incorrect says no, no problem. Will searching and fishing be allowed contained in the hot gadget? we do not understand. some have speculated we would bypass decrease back to meatless approaches, yet back we do not understand. in spite of will be tremendous.

It is a specialized type of hunting, and is differentiated by several factors: it uses a completely different type of equipment, different skills are needed to be successful, it's a different environment (you don't usually enter the fish's enviroment the way you do a deer's), etc.
On the political side, I guess they're pretty much the same whatever side you're on.

Yep - fishing is a form of hunting.
Why don't people complain about it? Well it has a lot to do with the fact that animals like foxes, deer etc are 'cute & cuddly' and have a personality. Whereas fish are scaley, cold and uninteresting.

TEchnically there is a difference. Hunting - you are looking for something. Fishing is to try to get something to come to you.
