I bought a 42" Magnavox Plasma TV .. .. it is hooked up to my computer and we use it for tv and PC. 2 days ago it developed one little red single pixel looking square near the top center of the screen. It flutters sometimes and with bright image on the screen it goes away but if the screen is dark or blank, or I have just my desktop open it's there bright as anything .... I can cover it with my mouse pointer and sometimes it hides it and sometimes it shows through .... I can't figure this one out ... Is this one little spot just getting the wrong info sent to it?

No, it's Misfiring......

There are 3 voltages to a plasma pixel....Ground , B+ and a Sustain voltage.....I'm not talking about address lines and such, I'm talking about VOLTAGE LEVELS IN THE PLASMA GAS.....

Ok? Ok.......

At present your address line grounds the Plasma, emits photons then it's SUPPOSED TO SHUT OFF THE PLASMA....it's not doing that....

SO.....now you have to see if it's the Address buffer IC or if the Plasma display is getting a charge from another cell next door to it......

My experience with plasma tells me your DISPLAY failed and NOT the ADDRESS buffer....and that is a VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR !!

That's why I prefer to NOT own a plasma.......

But God they have a GREAT PICTURE don't they........

Nope, it's a iffy drive transistor in the display, nothing you can do about it except hope it burns out. Or, if it bugs you, and it sounds irritating, exchange the set,, i would.
