My friend's Polish husband's name is Peter, but I want to know how to spell it the 'right' way. I think it's Piotr, but am not sure. Does anybody know?

In Polish we write Piotr and pronounce (Pyotr) talking to a man
Piotrek talking to boy (pyotrek)
