The Bible says Nod was east of Eden and also that it was not a nice place. In Hebrew the word means "wandering"

properly, on the start, there are truly 2 applications for the former testomony: a million) that is a historic previous of the Jewish people. 2) Prophesies on the challenge of the Messiah. Now, what do persons created ought to do with the Jews? The Bible does no longer communicate about the persons, diverse than even as some element they do coincides with some element that replaced into happening with the Jews. consequently, that is sensible to imagine that both a million) Cain's significant different replaced into his sister, because incest replaced into now no longer a sin, and women persons weren't stated plenty interior the Bible. or 2) Cain's significant different replaced into of diverse those who were created after Adam and Eve. in reality, that any be conscious on what Cain replaced into doing extraordinarily plenty ended after he replaced into married and had a pair toddlers is nonexistent. He truly wasn't significant anymore. It replaced into the distinct descendants of Adam and Eve that mattered, via creating use of truth their line presented about Moses, David, and Jesus Christ.

I grew up as a catholic and believed that too but u need to step out of the English version and link with the Hebrew language if u are to unlock the puzzle. In the King James version u'll find the word 'replenish' in Gen-1:28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth (in part). Majority of words with 're' in the beginning means to do it over. We know the planet was destroyed by meteorites many times and this is actually where the bible starts off- at the end of one of those showers. The earth was dark because of the dust clouds that covered the earth from the meteorites.

People were existing for millions of years along with the dinosaurs- and living in fear of them- and this is why we don't find them in our scriptures- the meteorites. The word for Genesis in Hebrew is 'Barashyth' and it does not mean original creation. The Hebrew word for creation is 'Khalaq'. 'Bara' is to make and 'shyth' is Hebrew for Seth-the replacement of Abel.

Cain knew of the people in Nod and he was afraid of them but remember he lived in a secured neighborhood- the garden. Back then they named places after people mainly leaders so the big question is who was Nod? All i can say is in the Sumerian teachings there was a God named Nudimud also called Enqi and he was a leader of a dis-agreeable tribe.

You do not need to know the land of nod. that was long time ago maybe and exactly it has changed and no more to be located. It was the will of God that the many sons and daughters of Adam and Eve have spread all over the small world, Able was already very old when he died meaning he was already old when he at last reach the land of nod. Their he found his last wife maybe not knowing that she is his sister by accident.

Yeah, that is a bit of a problem.

The book of Genesis was written by various people at various times, some of them editing older layers of it written by earlier writers, and so it's not surprising that it's a bit inconsistent. I wouldn't go for all that meteorite/dinosaurs and humans living together stuff if I were you - if god wanted us to believe that dinosaurs existed, they'd be in the bible.

I happen to believe that they did exist and that there is no god, and that the biblical account of the creation of the universe and man's destiny within it is itself inconsistent with the evidence all around us. My favourite explanation for this is that the bible was written by people who believed in god because it was the best account of the creation of the world that existed at the time. However, ever since Darwin published 'The Origin of the Species' in 1859 there's been a better explanation that solves the problems of chronology, etc. raised by the bible story. That's just to let you know where I'm coming from.

It's spelled 'Abel' btw.

Eden was located at the place where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers meet. (The actual place "Eden" is mentioned almost 300 times in Mesopotamian tablets dating from 2500-2000 BC).

That means that Nod was likely "east" (toward the sunrise) in Iran. The "land of wandering", a place where you can't settle down--in the Zagros Mountains.

We can surmise that Cain's descendants kept in contact with Seth's descendants because we have preserved for us Cain's genealogy in Genesis chapter 4. How would we know if they lost communication with them?

So the two families either intermarried or there were other inhabitants. Those are really the only possibilities. (And the opening verses of Genesis 6 indicate the possibility of intermarriage between the "sons of Elohim"--the worshippers of the God of Creation--and the "daughters of men"--the daughters of those who deserved no other title of respect.)

oooo - you've found a hole in the plot! Keep it quiet or opus dei will be onto you!

Actually, the book of genesis, like all of the bible, is a confabulation of stories from a variety of sources, all mungled up and merged, and so is chock full of inconsistencies like this. It's all very interesting as a cultural artifact, it's just sad and worrying that people try and base their life around it!
