You don't have to date or see someone if you don't want to. There's no rule that says you have to be involved with someone. Sometimes it's just not worth the hassle, or, as you say, you can't find anyone who seems to be the right person for you.

My last relationship wasn't even in this century, and I have to admit I don't mind in the least.

The only thing I would say is, you need to make sure you have social connections. You need to make sure you aren't becoming a recluse, and cutting yourself off from the world at large. (This is one of those things I have to watch for.)

If you're happy single, then stay single. When you're ready to give it another try, you will.

Hi Adam, If you like being alone for 6 years then don't date anyone. But if you are lonely start meeting woman and date the ones you think you have things in common. Growing old and being alone is no fun at all. When we start getting up in age we need someone for companionship. SO start looking and dating until you fine ms. right. Take your time and don't be in a hurry.
A Friend.

i would say no you don't have to date people if you are the kind of person who likes to be by yourself. If you don't want to be alone then yes you have to date. Their is all kind of ways to date; like group dating, blind date, speed dating, and net dating this one you have to watch out for. If you have not found that right girl yet you need to look inside of yourself and ask yourself what do u like to do, or what makes you;you. and then find someone with your same ideas, wants and needs. if you can't find that it girl still that means you are to into yourself or just plain lazy.

if you are happy being single, then why do you have to ask for this opinion...not everyone finds the love of their life and marries...there are some people out there that simply like living by themselves and are completely content....Tell who ever is pressuring you to butt out of your business...

if you're happy being single, then people should just leave you alone. some folks think it's their mission in life to hook people up when they really need to mind their own business.

No, you really don't. Romantic love is optional. There's nothing wrong with being single (and FREE) for as long as you please.
