No family problems, we're all fine, its this illness thats really dragging me down, had lots of work stress lately, which resulted in amnesia since november, am trying my best to regenerate myself as i'm now off sick from work. Any suggestions to get myself back to my 'normal bouncy self?'

Illness has neen a wicked sinusitus which is extremely painfull with constant stress migraines that have continued now the sinusitis has gone...
I have migralieve tablets from doctor, but they dont really seem to do much most of the time.

I have had 2 treatments of reiki so far, for relaxation purposes, soaking in a bath, not spending time on computer as it hurts the eyes, i'm not sure if there's anyone out there who's lived with stress migraines and can give me any help in gettin them to go without taking more & more pills

(-: If you are feeling fed up and cranky, I think that's a good sign that you are starting to recover. You probably aren't quite there yet, so don't do too much -- you wouldn't want a relapse. But getting outside for a short stroll (five minutes) three times a day if it doesn't drag you down will give you a little more energy. If it is bright, be sure to wear a hat and sunglasses -- the brightness can cause headaches.

You could also try a little bit of yoga. And also see if there are some *small* projects you can catch up on. Empty out all your trashcans, if someone hasn't done it for you. And fluff up your bed a bit.

Again, don't try to do too much, but if you can do a little bit, praise yourself! It'll take a little time to get back into the swing of things.

It's not normal for an otherwise fit 'bouncy' person to develop amnesia (forgetfulness) due to stress. It is true that some people with depression or anxiety can have difficulty concentrating. The fact that you have headaches that have not got better after relaxation, migraine tablets and presumably other simple pain killers needs to be explained. Are the headaches / migraine of new onset? Have you any symptoms of infection following the sinusitus? For example fevers or sweating at night.

My advice would be to go back to the doctor to try to get a diagnosis. If you've got new-onset headache / migraine, onset of forgetfulness and persisting symptoms of infection, it's not neccessarily all due to stress - especially as you describe yourself as normally 'bouncy'. Ask the doctor to consider referring you for further tests at the hospital.

Good luck!

stress migranes are terrible to have,,your head really hurts, noise and light is painful, not including achy muscles and neck...sometimes when you are doing nothing very much even though you are not aware of it you can be concerntrating on how you are feeling and trying to hard to find reasons, which at the present time will only stress you out further, the computer will hurt your eyes so will tv anything bright.try reading if you can..but i think the best solution i have found,is going for a walk, clear air is always good for you,and you will be concerntrating on something other than how you are feeling or the stress of work.go swiming,or just an evening out..to much time on your own is never good, and sometimes even if it is for a couple of hours a change of scenery is well worth it..take care.

If you have blue skies where you are - get out in to the sunshine. Go to a local park and listen to the birds, have lunch outside if you can. Have you and your GP considered that you might be experiencing SAD? try buying a light box for the darker/cloudier days
