WinZip is shareware. That means you have to pay a fee to gain access to some of its features. You can find registration serial number for WinZip on the Internet, but doing that is considered a software piracy and thus illegal.

if you are using XP ....then you don't need winzip, because XP has built-in zip utility already, just highlight the file(s) you want, and right click, select Send to....then select Zipped File.
If you want to use Winzip, then go download the program, once it asked for the key/series, go to http://serials.ws, put winzip in search box and Enter....double click the available link with % (the higher, the better), copy that key, and paste it into the Winzip box.

You do not have to use Winzip. There are tons of FREE unzipping programs out there. Just Google for them. EX: FREE unzipping programs

Just download the program from (http://www.winzip.com/) Even when the trial period is over, the program will still run as normal, you just have to ignore the pop-up that states how many asks you to register. Just click on "Use Evaluation Version".
