Atheism would mean the denial of the existence of God [Allah] which is herecy!

This is denying the first pillar of Islam - La illah il illah, Mohammad ur rasool illah, or There is no God but God and Mohammad is His Prophet.

The question of one who was born into the tradition of Islam, or belongs to a Muslim family, comitting llhad [atheism] would make him/her a murtad fitri[apostate, or one leaving Islam into which he was born] guilty of irtidad [treason] and, according to the Shari'a[Islamic Law] that is instant beheading.

In Islam, that is punishable by Death!

So, in answer to your question, the only Atheist in the Muslim Community is the dead Atheist.

All the best!

Cheers!

That makes as much sense as asking if there are Christian atheists. By definition, an Atheist does not believe in a God, so can not be a Muslim. You are maybe confusing religion with race.

a muslim who doesnt pray doesnt mean he/she is an atheist or doesnt believe in God
der maybe a man who doesnt pray 5times a day but neva misses da friday prayers
well its said dat prayer(salaat) is a thin line between kufr n islam but scholars hve maintained the view dat a person only becums a non believer when he/she actually disbelieves in Allah n islam.

the definition of a muslim is one who submits his will to Allah, so the moment one stops believing in the existence of Allah he is no longer a muslim by definition. Please note that the definition is clear and decisive and going to mosque is not the criteria for being a muslim, however it is a characteristic of a muslim.

Of course there are those who claim to be Muslim, and do not practice, but we have no authority to judge them. I personally know of some Arab Lebanese, who drink, have girlfriends (multple ones), do illegal sexual intercourse, and don't even know how to pray.

For their judgment God is the All-Seer. You can't be Muslim and Atheist, Muslim means you believe in God alone, and atheist denies any deity.

peace be with you

Though I am not a Muslim, I am sure of, no Muslim can be an atheist.

As Christians are not identified by their names, I believe Muslims are also not identified by their names but their submission.

Am I right?

yes some muslims don't go to friday prayers and that is great sin to do , but that doesn't make them atheists!!

Friday Prayer is mandatory on every Muslim male who is adult, healthy and free. Every Muslim male should strive hard to perform it on time unless something beyond his capacity disrupts that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, "If people don't stop abandoning the Friday Prayers Allah may seal their hearts and they will become heedless" (Muslim).
