"It's slimming, you should try it."
...
Oh you meen NOT upset them. Just tell them that you like it and that's all that matters. They don't have to look at you if they don't want to, right? <3 Black is a great color.

My husband does the all black or mostly black thing, too. I think "Mind your own business" is a perfectly acceptable response, but since you are concerned for their feelings, try "Because I'm color blind--this is the only way to make sure my clothes match."

The wearing of black clothing is associated with either Muslims or Goths. Both are a little strange.

i do the same thing, i mostly wear black but i also like dark/earth tones(grey, brown) you'll never catch me in yellow or red, my idea of change is a white shirt, i dont know, thats just me. i dont explain my self, i let them complain and continue to do what i like.if its a relative or close friend, they already know thats what i like so they dont bother to tell me anymore.

Ask them to buy you something new to wear and if they decline, tell them you will pick your own clothes as long as you are paying for them.

Just laugh at them. I wear alot of orange - I know how you feel. Aggression and negativity won't counter their obvious jealousy - since they don't have a personal style.

Ah.... I like wearing black. That is all. Nothing weird about it. No reason, other than I just like it.
Try that.
If that doesn't work. Try talking about our you like to cut yourself. That is always a good conversation.
