Cheap and Fast... Air travel particularly and cut price specials that are going.

Cheapish, slower, relaxing via intriguing unusual places... Freighter transport. You go via a freighter instead of luxury cruise ship but the trip is often a bit a longer and stops at out of the way really interesting places, plus apart from the crew there is usually only a handful of "guests" on board-- plus the accomodationis often better than the staterooms on luxury liners and you eat with the officers of the ship. A friend went on one and they are hooked and I cant wait to go either!

www.letsgotoaustralia.com has a free e-book that may help you decide where you want to go in Australia and then determine the cheapest route.

Apart from the silly billy answers some will give, the cheapest way to get anywhere these days is by flying. Its cheaper than land or sea. You could try walking, but it may take long time.
