Sort of. I tend to overanalyze anything I do beforehand, so I was well aware of the endorphin reaction. This tends to blunt the reaction since I'm aware it's going to happen, but any lows tend to blunt as well.
In my case I definitely felt a little stoned; later visits didn't produce quite the same intensity, probably due to me being used to it. However, my initial after-reaction was a low. I was in a good space life-wise at the time, so between that & the forewarning I was able to ignore the low. I'm big on mind-over-matter wrt bodily biochemical reactions.
If you're not aware of what happens after the endorphins go away & have some stress in your life, I can see this reaction. Likely, since it's your first, there could me a smidgen of 'buyers remorse', the same way one's first home, one's wedding, first child or any worthwhile commitment can make one nervous and doubt our course. Life is never certain, and as thinking creatures we juggle all sorts of possibilities in our heads.
We all know we want the ink, we love it afterwards (and often want more...), but so many people are down on tats that even the most confident of us hear that annoying whiney voice in the back of our heads. They weren't able to stop us, but they did plant the seed of doubt in our heads and we feel it. It doesn't make what we did wrong, but should remind us that some people won't be happy until they've ruined our freedom of choice.

Hmmmm, I can't say I have experienced that before and I am covered!!! I feel a bit woozy after 4-5 hours of tattooing but not a comedown. Saying that, I do not like being tattooed. I always go for a walk in the days after a big session and I believe that gentle exercise gets the healing process started quicker. Not a 'sweating buckets' marathon, but a stroll round the park, feed the ducks etc. Movement will get you going where you should be going.
Well....what are you doing reading this??? Go, avanti, vamos.

Sorry, but no. I couldn't stop looking at my tattoo after I got it and that went on for about a week. It was something that I really wanted, thought long and hard about, and had a special meaning. I never regretted it or became depressed about it.

No, infact, when I got my one and only tattoo on my hip over the bone, I couldn't stop laughing because the needle would vibrate my entire hip bone. It was great, but after it was over it was like no big deal. I went out and got drunk. Go out for a few drinks and relax. The high was probably not from the endorphins because tattoos do not hurt you nearly enough to release that many endorphins. It was more likely from wanting a tattoo for awhile and then finally getting one and now, that low? Well, you got your tattoo and now your stuck with it.

You will be fine in just a few days.
Getting a tattoo can be like having a small surgery.
Your body can go into mild shock and cause your serotonin to drop, when that happens it causes mild depression.
Get plenty of sleep and eat healthy.
You'll be back to your normal self.

I have experienced that high and low. That's why people keep going back again and again. Now that you have one you'll probably get up to 4 more, maybe even more. good luck and I hope you like your new Tat, keep it moist and don't pick at it...8)

You'll be fine, in fact you will probably get a few more. I felt like that after the 1st one, but after two days I was fine.

Give yourself a couple more days, this will even out and you will be back to your normal self, in no time.
This is a pretty common experience.
