No, your Mammy wrote it! Just ask Mammy, if you please. She made shortin bread and all them boys just LOVED IT. Shortin bread was special, it was when the white's had more than enough stuff to make bread [the black's were the cooks then,} and the cooks got to take the extra bread makings home. Shortin-short of white masters bread making, but enough for them to have.
