A Gun but which one, Air rifle, bb gun , paintball gun, or are we talking shotguns and firearms, For such things as the last 2 you requier a certificate from your local constabulary,, shot gun cert or firearms cert. TO apply for ether, contact your constabulary they will send out the appropriat forms for you to fill in. Understand this though for a novice without no experience of such guns you will have to do quite a bit to convince them to grant you any. If there the guns you wish to accuier then join your local clay club or rifle club and gain as much experience as you can.
With air rifles and the others there totlay ligal as long as they are under 12ft lbs anything over requiers an FAC.
To finde any of these guns just visit a local firearms dealer or start a search on ther net

The question would be
1) Why would you want to own one?
2) What would you use it for?
3) Where would you use it?
You do need a firearms certificate and a very secure location to store an active firearm. Also you need to think about the type of firearm you require. Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun. What caliber and make?
Just to own one is easy, you can purchase shotguns still quite easily from a number of shops and specialist traders out there (gun magazines are availiable in most good newsagents).
Or the alternative is find a gun club in your local area, or shoot. You will more than likely have to travel out of Liverpool for it. But they will help you and train you to shoot correctly (its not a case of point and pull the trigger), how to care and respect firearms and help you to understand the impact of owning your own firearm.

Depends on what kind of gun you want. Air rifles and pistols are easily bought on the internet. Shotguns are obtainable under licence and can be bought from reputable gunsmiths. Pistols can be legally purchased under licence if you're a member of a bona fide gun club.
As to how much you can expect to pay, well, you get what you pay for: from £100 upwards to £50,000 for a good shotgun.

why do you want to own a gun? Obviously for killing animals (hopfully not people). Don't kill the animals. They have every right to enjoy their life. Maybe take up anbother hobby that doesn't involve murder.
