How should I bring him to help when he believes he doesn't need it? Should I tell him straight up and fight with him to bring him, or make an appointment and lie to him and then bring him??
I am so confused because this is my boyfriend of almost 4 years and I have seen him from being in his highest of highs, to rock bottom, and I think I have something to do with how he is now because I have spoiled him so much and did everything for him and now he is 23 and lost in life... ??
But when he is normal it seems like everything is fine and nothing ever happened... I just want my old boyfriend back it's only been like this for a month or so but havent really thought nething of it until now

Hello, I know what your going through. Has your friend been checked for {Bi-polarism} technical term by-polar. To have this illness can lead to severe depression, anxiety, furthermore, it includes all above mentioned symptoms. I would bring your friend to the doctor, pretend the appointment is for you make it look convincing that the appointment is for you. If you can advise your doctor first on what you are trying to accomplish. Then while he stays with you because you do not like to see a dr. start speaking a little about him, usually a good physician will lead you into the topic. To have this disease and not having support or not knowing about it or not knowing what is wrong can lead to severe clinical depression which can go even one step further and that would be because your friend drinks. Please if he is truly your friend be a friend get him to see a family doctor which in turn will refer him to another doctor ect, ect,... Now that's only one thaught out of about a hundred that I can think of right now. It could also simply be a chemical deficiancy, for example his body and mind may need vitamin B-12 which if your body does not have or produce enough of can lead to some of the symptoms.

I would like you to ask your friend if he has any type of burning sensations in his body, mind or especially his veins. That would be a clear indicator that your friend may need B-12 shots.

Next, he may also be feeling guilty about something he did or said, if he has a conscience.

From the sound of it his life is not doing that well right now, and maybe he does not see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But medically there are certain things to look for; such as, not sleeping, mood swings, red eyes sometimes when he has been alone and you don't realize it, he has been crying because of lonliness or stress. By the way stress can and will kill.

If I was you I would start with the small stuff such as blood work to check all vitamins and mineral counts. An M.R.I. to make sure there is nothing wrong nuerologically such as pressure on the brain, a blood clot in a persons leg can cause these symptoms.

As time progresses if he get's better then he's fine, other wise at least you will have done your duty as a good friend.

I would ask instead of calling him lazy and to get a job, I know guys don't like to talk but asking him what is wrong and not leaving until you get an answer might just be the thing. Let him know you care about his life and that it means, and is worth something.

I hope this helped in some small way.

I am bipolar and you totally described me. Until I got help. With medication and therapy I have been stable for fifteen years now. But what you said, was totally me. Especially the paranoia and the mood swings. I would be happy one minute and sad the next. What I found out is that I am a rapid cylcer which means my highs and lows switch back and forth sometimes really fast.

My suggestion is that your friend should go get a mental health evaluation and meet with a psychiatrist because they specialize in diagnosing mental illnesses and they prescribe medications.

I agree with the person that said Bi-Polar.... could also be dealing with a clinical depression...

Either way.. no matter what this person need's help. They need to get to a Dr. to be evaluated.

As someone that suffers.. and I do mean suffer's from depression complicated by panic/anxiety.... it's not something to wait on.. the longer they wait.. the harder it will be to pull them selves up out of the hole they feel they are in at the moment.

I have chronic insomnia.. that I can't medicate for because I am home alone at night my son's... granted they are all older.. but you never know when MOM has to be up and available...

Please do your best to get this person to get some professional help.. it is very worth it..

Could be bipolar schizophrenia. With so many psychiatric meds available today, there is no need for someone to be tormented at this day and age. Get him to a psych clinic or at the least, to see a psychiatrist ASAP. It is very difficult to get a person committed to a mental health facility, unless they r a danger to themselves or to others, unless they sign a voluntary commitment, therefore a doctor would be an easier choice to at least get him on some medication, then he is apt to be more suggestive to further help if needed.

Sounds to me that he could have a little of schitzophrenia and bipolar disorder. He needs medical mental attention. Meds can help him lead a healthy normal life.

Could be bipolar.

Whether it's that or something else, they need to see a doctor and be very open and honest about all symptoms. They can be helped tremendously through medication and counseling. Tell him/her not to waste any more of their life... GET HELP!! ; )

seriously dont believe him or put in his mind that he is havin ''multiple personality disorder' that will make him a good lame excuse to takecare of him by someone else....leave him on his way, let him take care of himself, do not bother his daily routine, leave him also so he learns wat life is. avoid him for he is pointing out u when he is in trouble, check him out if he is occupied in ur place. and after all ..one final question..pls....do u really need such a lasy goose as ur friend who has no aims or ambitions??? and ur posting a question on behalf of him and ur concern abt this guy who turns out to be ur own enemy certain times???...grow up friend....let him grow himself.
