It is OK to give them children's vitamins. Anything other than that check with their doctor, you may also ask their doctor if they know of ways to help encourage your children to eat better foods. You have to do every thing that you can to encourage them to eat better. Some times it is some thing as simple as certain foods don't taste good to your children, so that you need to find others that will taste better to them. Do some experimenting by trying all sort of these items, of course not all at once.
You need to keep encouraging them to eat fruit/vegetables and salads as they are all good for them. Make sure that you set a good example by eating fruits/ vegetables and salads your self. Children learn by example, so that if they see that you don't eat these things they often won't eat them either. Try raw vegetables as well, cut then into small pieces and keep them in the refrigerator. Celery sticks with peanut butter (make sure they are not allergic to it) put the peanut butter in the hollowed out part of the celery and then put raisins on top of the peanut butter. Kids call these bugs on a log. Children often love them.
You need to get creative to encourage them to eat these foods. Go to a book store and see if you can find a book to help you with this, I'm sure that there are books out there for this type of thing.
I wish you the best of luck with this, I'm sure that with a little work that you will be able to encourage your children to eat these foods.

Yes, they even make vitamin drops for babies. Children often go through stages where they don't eat enough of the right foods, so it's a good habit to have them take a children's multivitamin/mineral each day. For the 12-year-old, he or she can probably take adult multivitamin/mineral formulas--but read the label to be sure. Not taking any dairy might mean that he or she will also need a calcium + vit D supplement, and some extra vitamin C never hurt anyone (since this child is not eating fruits and veggies).

The children adopt the habits of their parents. Vitamins r no substitute for healthy food habits. Give vitamin supplements only if indicated.
Eat only when hungry. Eat only nutritious and not junk. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in ur meals. Do not take more than three meals a day unless diabetic. Nothing in between except water. It will help u to contain ur craving for if u chew each morsel of food 32 times. It will also help ur brain to generate a signal that u have had enough.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly. These practices will help u to attain ideal weight within a reasonable time span.

If they don't eat fruits and vegetables, they will be short of vitamins, minerals and fiber. So, you need to supplement all of them. Diary products are good sources of calcium part from milk protein and fat (butter). So, these aspects should be taken care.

Yes you should.
You should however, talk to your doctor first. If it is just a few nutrients they aren't getting, you would only want to supply those, instead of giving them a multi-vitamin and over-dose them on something they get plenty of already.

You might as well give them vitamin supplements if they are not getting it from their food.
