Thank all of you I gave her a warm bath and gave her a pedialyte freezer pop, she seemed to be in a good mood i got her to take some tyenol, i called her doctors cell and she told me that high fevers are ok for children thst they are a sign that the body is fighting off sickness. and if the fever is not down in an hour to take her to the er, and if she still has a fever in the morning to make an appointment, I just took her temp and it is down to 98.2 but she still feels a litt;e warm and she is sleeping like an angel. :)

What people are telling you is mostly correct. It's not always necessary to rush out the door to the er when a child has a fever, however. The things you can do for her at home, like tepid baths, encouraging liquids, dressing her lightly, somehow getting medicine down her and keeping a close eye on her, are pretty much the same things they do at the hospital. My son still gets high fevers sporadically, and it's true, fever is a body's way of fighting off another infection. One of the most important things to watch is her attitude. If she has the energy to fight you and if she doesn't seem really lethargic, she's probably fine, or if she does and doesn't perk up when you give her tylenol and her fever starts to go down, that's when you get to the er, and fast. Also, please, please know that when you take an auxillary temp, like under the armpit, you always add a degree to what the thermometer reads and make sure you tell the nurses and doctors how you take it and what the therm. actually said. I know it's scary, but I've been told, on several occasions, that it's around 105 degrees when medical staff start to worry, at least in babies over a year old, so please don't let any well intentioned, but wrong, people on here scare the bejesus out of you. Finally, you know your daughter best, if there's something else going on, if she's not acting ok or normal, let your doctor know that, too. I suspect she'll be getting 1. a tooth 2. a rash or 3. a cold like sickenss within a few days.

try this first - a lukewarm bath. Not cold, not hot, tepid. Pour the water over her head, let her play in the water. Give her cool drinks to drink while in the tub.

One of our children used to fight the medicine too - even when required. We used to lay them face up on the floor, gently hold the head still between the knees, and hold both hands in one of your hands. Have the medicine ready beforehand. Then at that point, she will probably yell - put the medicine in the side of her mouth and she wil swallow.

If the bath does not reduce the fever within an hour, then give the local ask a nurse a call before taking her in.

Small children can get higher fevers and still be just fine.

The regulation is 20 lbs AND 1yr previous. it is an previous regulation and that's now cautioned which you bypass away a baby interior the RF place as much as the seats potential, which on the coolest ones is around 33- 35 lbs. toddlers are safest dealing with backwards, because of the fact their bodies are cradled by potential of the seat interior the shape of a crash. even however he might purely be on your mom's vehicle some situations, what if it fairly is whilst the spoil take place. I surely have 3 Britax Boulevards for my truck, my husbands vehicle, and my mom's vehicle. those seats have been $3 hundred+ each and every and that i don't care because of the fact i comprehend my baby is risk-free. you will get good, risk-free convertible seat with around the comparable weight limits for extra fee-effective, it fairly is in basic terms the seat I chosen. My daughter would be 2 next week and continues to be dealing with backwards and probable nevertheless would be this time next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days as she is barely 23 lbs. good success! EDIT** additionally in basic terms fyi for the reaction above you ought to purchase FF seats that are nevertheless a 5 component harness and not a booster, yet staying RF is extra useful

You can bring the fever down by washing her in cool water. You should probably take her to the ER ASAP. A fever is a sign that something is wrong.

unfortunally I've been fighting our 6 yr olds fever of 102.7 for a week now and finally this morning she woke up without one. All you can do is keep trying to give her meds and watch to make sure it doesnt' get worse. If it gets worse take her in. Good luck. I know how you feel

Don't waste time asking us for opinions. Your baby needs to see a doc asap. A cool wet wipedown will bring immediate relief but she needs to see a doc.

In another degree or two you could have a verrrrrry sick child on your hands.

Now scoot and get her in to a doc or ER.

I hope she is ok.

give her a cold sponge bath.use a piece of cloth soaked in cold water and apply it on hot areas like the armpit, the back of the knee, the palms, the feet and place also a cold face towel on the forehead to counteract the body heat.
