not dating other people...being exclusive. doing things together toward future. learning to understand each other, experience each other to become familiar with each other...to come to trust and have faith in one another. making a serious commitment is to focus on each other and building a good relationship and foundation. to find home in each others presence and absence. to feel security with each other. you commit to finding ways to make each other feel wonderful and special and important.
supporting each other. being kind to each other. learning and teaching each other. sticking by each other through good and bad that comes unexpectedly. just to name a few....in the name of commitment. peace

Committed (relationship): Both parties are WILLING to be each other's companion and treat each other with the utmost respect. You are 100% willing to make sacrifices without expectations and accept one another AS IS. Your weaknesses are the other's strengths while your strengths are their weaknesses. It's completely a give-take. You are each other's inspiration, motivation and comforting arms. A support system if you will.
Being committed is shown by your actions, day in, day out.

Pooling resources and expenses, not having sexual contact with anyone else, preferring each others' company to that of others most (but not all) of the time, sharing secrets with the confidence that they will remain secret. It's a good start.
