What are we showing them in regards to patience? If we are not giving them an example of what it means to be patient and teaching them that some things must be waited for, then young people will not become more patient.

If their parents aren't patient, their children will follow suit. Humans often learn a lot from their parent's habit (eg. driving, smoking...)
